It’s basically the Beyoncé of budget tripods—universally adored, unexpectedly resilient, and probably more famous than some actual photographers.Anyway, last week I was out in Iceland—you know, land of ice, fire, and trails that feel like they were personally designed by God who is mad at your knees. I needed a tripod that wouldn’t weigh me down or cost more than my flight. So I brought this featherlight AmazonBasics contraption that, at first glance, looks like it might buckle under the weight of a stern gaze.But here’s the plot twist—this twiggy little guy stood its ground. My Fuji X-T5 with a 10-24mm lens? No problem. It didn’t shiver, it didn’t quake—it just stood there, silently fulfilling its one sacred duty: Don’t. Move. And it nailed it. Repeatedly.Is it flimsy? Absolutely. Is it reliable? Weirdly, yes. The rubber feet? Unexpectedly grippy. I trusted it enough to let it face a glacier while I fumbled with my iPhone and my other 50mm lens like a caffeinated raccoon.So here I am, uploading a pic of this unsung hero posing stoically in front of a glacier—like a proud parent documenting its kid’s first ice bath. I’ve had this tripod for 10 years now, and I only just now had to replace a part. The spring-loaded top adapter piece that holds the phone snapped finally and I was searching for a whole new tripod. Luckily this popped up on my feed as a past purchase, along with a universal adapter. And Voila! All better!This tripod is very sturdy and is a great height for what I need it for. I do a ton of self tapes as an actor and it’s a keeper. The adapter was $7 and is perfect.Buy it!

I bought this as a tripod to carry when I go hiking and it works well for that purpose. It is compact and lightweight. It's also a little bit flimsy and tends to wobble easily. That's the trade off you make for cheap and lightweight. For a hiking tripod, it's worth it to me. I would not recommend this as your only tripod. I have a nice, heavy duty Silk tripod I will use if I'm not hiking a mile up and down hills.

Got this for use with a somewhat heavy DSLR, but has since been repurposed for lighter cameras. Due to abuse over the years the swivel at the top doesn't work great anymore, but considering how long it's been in use and how poorly I treated it I feel it has held up better than expected. Pretty small when packed up which makes travel easy, and is high enough for most of what I need to use it for.

This easel is so compact and lightweight. I used it several times on my trip to Europe. It was great to just pop it into my shoulder bag and set up to paint wherever. I'm thinking about using it instead of my heavy-duty plein air tripod. Note: I used it with a lightweight plastic watercolor set up. The head doesn't hold up with a wooden palette.

The glass has excellent visibility, is non-reflective, and looks sharp even in front of a light source. Plus, it's compatible with my phone and camera, which makes my job so much easier. An essential tool for any content creator, instructor, or entrepreneur looking to improve the quality of their recordings!

I started my career as a freelance photographer at age 24. I retired at age 82. I have owned and used many tripods in that time span. I ordered this tripod because it seemed like a good choice for personal use. I was amazed when I opened the package and set it up. For small (as in light) cameras is professional quality and a super value. Excellent build quality and features. Sorry I did not buy one while in the business.
