I have been an avid shea butter user for several years. After using up the remainder of a previous batch (different company), I decided to switch to something that was certified organic. Upon using this product, I quickly realized that not all that glitters is gold. Unfortunately, my shea butter is nowhere near smooth. I found it to be extremely gritty and difficult to soften. The texture (grittiness) and smell leads me to believe that this shea butter is being cut with cocoa butter.Also, after briefly reviewing this company's USDA certification, it appears that their Jojoba and Argon Oils are their only USDA certified products . I would not order this product again.

The BEST Raw Shea Butter!!! I broke two bones in my ankle and ended up going through surgery the next day. I came out with a plate and seven screws refitting my ankle. The stitches from the plate insertion was about 8 inches long! I also had a small wound on the opposite side of the same ankle. I had been given a couple of prescriptions to help my scar/stitches heal quickly. They seemed to be taking too long, and never really healing. After two weeks of minimal healing, I began putting the raw shea butter on my scar and wound instead of the prescriptions. In less than 7 days, my stitches appeared completely healed and my skin was smoothed - not tight. The wound on the same leg took a little longer, but within 10 days the size of my wound had reduced from the size of a quarter to that of a dime. In another 7 days it finally had a layer of skin over it indicating it was finally closing, and now it is completely healed over! I can tell the difference when I use this Raw Shea Butter as opposed to other lotions on my skin. It's wonderful, well absorbed and non-greasy.... Wonderful for skin! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!

This shea butter is nothing short of amazing! I’ve tried countless products, many advertised to help with eczema and to no avail my son’s flare ups would continue. Finally I thought why not go back to the basics and keep it simple. That is when I came across this raw shea butter. I mixed it with a little bit of my son’s calendula baby oil and within a week my son’s skin was so much better and healing! everyone has commented on how nicely his skin has healed even his dermatologist! while I know his doctors want the best for him I prefer to use natural products instead of chemically laden options such as dermasmooth for eczema. I already purchased another chunk for a friend and I plan to buy more for myself. It’s also such a cost effective product as a little bit goes a long way. Super rich and creamy and works well even on my super sensitive skin.

I have never buy raw Shea butter so I am not sure if this is a good quality product. It feels like solid like when you are trying to cut a piece of cheese, but then starts being soft when rub against skin.I would said the smell is not great, but it does not smells super strong or rancid like others have described poor quality Shea butter so I guess is a good product.When rub against my hands it felt greasy like Vaseline. When rub against lips it felt super soft.

I waited to review this because the seller reached out to find out if I was satisfied. After my response, she never responded so now I'm reviewing. It was wrapped great but the smell I did not like. I've smelled scented shea butter where you no longer smell the nutty smell of shea. So this item smelled smoky and I was like oh my, no. Then I let it sit on my arm all day to see if the smoky smell goes away. After plenty of hours I smell my arm and although the smell was not as strong it was definitely still there. I asked if the smell the pieces they pack before they send it, and there was again no response. I use shea to make my own whipped scented shea body butters but I'm looking for a seller that sells GOOD shea. I will be trying another seller.If you grew up using hair grease eith the hot comb, you should know that DAX Kocatah (google it) black bacon smelling grease and this is how this shea butter smell!

Well, so far I have used it twice on my face and feet and legs, I only knew of one store that sold the real shea butter and it was almost grey with what he calls specks of bark off a tree from Africa. It work wonders so, when I saw this I thought I can make stuff now too! So, I am going to try your recipes to it and then review that. But I am satisfied because I know that this is not butter flavored crispó! Thank you for the pure product. I will be reordering soon! Cee

I purchased this to make my own natural sunscreen and lotions. This Shea Butter is fantastic to use, and of great quality. The seller is great about making sure you are happy with your purchase as well. I think this 1lb will last me for a good while but when I go to purchase again, I will buy from this seller again.
