The temperature readings on the thermometer I received were erratic--always low, but widely divergent temperatures. So I complained about it as a defective product and got a refund from Amazon. I ordered a replacement thermometer and had the same experience--widely divergent readings, even within a very short time period. I have always had low temperature--usually 96.something. However, these readings were going way below that.On my last doctor's appointment, I asked the nurse to check the thermometer. The reading on this thermometer was 93.7; the reading on the nurse's thermometer was 96.1. Obviously, that is an unacceptable variance. I would accept a small variation as, in spite of the name, I don't expect precision in a home use thermometer in this price range. However, this is totally useless.Since I have already received two defective thermometers, I am going to give this up as a lost cause.

Quite probably the worst thermometer I've ever used. It's accuracy is non-existent; I usually take the temperature at least 3 times in a row the exact same location to be safe, and even then the reported temperature varies up to 3 degrees! The "low battery" warning is useless, since it doesn't display until the battery is apparently dead, which isn't very helpful. And there doesn't appear to be any way to change the battery anyway. The "battery cover" is completely smooth and sloped, so there's nothing to grip. Of course, Vive support, when they deign to respond to customer service enquiries, simply say "easily remove the cap" and "you should have no trouble." Thanks, that's ever so helpful.

I was ill not too long ago and wanted to know my temperature so I purchased this particular unit; based partially on the reviews. It just so happens my brother in law is a physician and I took this to both his office and the hospital where I was treated to compare it to the 'pro unit's' and the accuracy turned out to be (in my opinion) way off: by .4 to 1.0 degrees. To me that was significant. Don't use it anymore except when I want a 'close' approximation. I'll have to confess I'm not sure it can be calibrated to accommodate for what I perceive to be inaccurate readings.

The one I received has a major flaw, it reads inconsistently and too low, that is you don't get the same reading twice. It reads around 96 to 97.8 F never the same reading twice. Also it does not read other people's temperature correctly either, always too low, even though I followed the instructions carefully.I can't recommend anyone buy this thermometer.

The "beep" didn't beep, so I can't tell when it's ready to use or to read. Not really happy with product.

These were supposed to be so accurate. Out of the package, one read 1 degree higher than the other. When I try to take my temp, the values are erratic. It beeps rapidly and tells me I have a fever of 100.5. I try it again immediately, and it beeps slowly and the reading is 98.8. The next time it reads 100+, then I get 98.2. You can't trust the unit to be working properly. Both act similarly. Save your money.

Works like a charm. Easy to read digital screen, takes temperatures incredibly quickly. You must have adequate light to look at the screen, it does not have a backlight.
