Work without issue
We recently got some Motherboards on sale that were missing the M.2 slot. Not wanting to have to revert to slower SATA SSD's I ordered two of these. They take about 10 minutes to install properly. You get a little screwdriver included to remove the heatsink, and an array of thermal pads to use depending on the thickness of your SSD.I've now bought a total of 4 of these and they have all worked flawlessly. The SSD's are detected immediately without requiring any additional drivers, and performance seems just as good as if they were installed directly onto the motherboard.Great value for money, allowing older motherboards to use newer storage technology.

Great value, performance and ease of install. Does the job!
Great product, all screws and heatssink stuff came with it. You only need to check your motherboard to ensure that you have a spare 16 PCI slot. Installed and it just worked on my AMD - marvellous. I upgraded my NVME memory to 4TB, and put the old 1TB in this card and in my spave PCI slot. SO fast having the OS (Windows 10) on an NVMe card.

Simple and effective
A great little PCIe to NVMe adapter with heatsink. It just slots into a PCIe slot unsupported (ie. no bracket) but it is light enough that this isn't a problem.Inside the enclosure you use thermal pads to ensure good thermal conductivity to the heatsink.

Surprisingly good
For the price this is well worth it. Sabrent is a company whose drives I've used before so seeing this from them was a no-brainer. My motherboard has two NVMe slots and I wanted to add a third drive. This little contraption does the job. The build quality is surprisingly good for the price, it doesn't feel cheap at all. In terms of installation it's a bit fiddly but okay if you follow the instructions. It's been running happily since the day I bought it and no problems as yet.

The perfect way to add an NVMe M.2 SSD to a system with no spare M.2 slots
The build quality is superb. so very simple to setup. everything aligns perfectly and the heat sink is decent. They include a thermal pad, which depending on the M.2 drive that you use, can vary the fit between firm and a bit of a struggle for reassembly. in the end, I used the Netac 700 2TB, which doesn't have too much circuitry bulge. it was a perfect fit, a great drive and runs lightening fast.I can see there are some negative comments here from people who have had genuine issues. I can only assume that Sabrent have improved the design, as i was so impressed with the build quality.Like all PC peripherals, you have to be aware of the added heat, and improve your case cooling if required. Personally, i have a gaming rig with some 5 Cooler Master MF140's plus a 360 water cooler for my CPU, so the added heat made zero difference for me. but it is something to bear in mind.I was warned that using the empty slot would have a speed impact on my graphics card. This has not proven to be the case, as i still benchmark the same, except now i have 2 extra hard drives. giving my system 6 NVMe M.2's now. I did a lot of readin, and where performance does drop, the amount is negligable. Personnally, I am fortunate enough to have a very powerful Asus Rog Strix z790f motherboard. Which i think is the reason why I am not seeing a performance drop. So again, you need to be aware that for older boards, you might have a small drop in performance from your graphics card.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these adaptors to my family and friends, as they are a great way to use an unused PCIe slot.

Allow you to add an NVME drive when you don't have an M2 slot available.
I bought this in order to use an old NVME drive which I had replaced with a faster and larger version in my gaming PC and use it in my aged Intel i7 3770k system which does not have an M2 slot. This worked perfectly and the drive actually tested faster using this that it did natively in my gaming PC's M2 slot. It has a pad to create contact with the metal heat sink. my only grip is that the screws holding it together are miniscule! I don't think you can get better for the price but there are more expensive versions which will allow you to install more than a single drive.
