Beats Strathmore tan notebooks by leaps and bounds--well worth the few extra bucks
I always sketch on tan paper, and my go-to had always been the Strathmore 9x12 tan sketchbooks (green cover with a close-up of some old dude on cover). They are a little cheaper than this item, but when it came time to get a new one I saw this. I noticed the substantially heavier-weight paper right away and the extra pages.I'm sold. I will not buy anything but these from here on out. This is 3x higher quality, 2x the pages, and it's a family-owned business. The paper itself is like 120gsm so it's very durable. Nothing will.ever bleed through. I wish it had just a little more tooth on the page but I'm still not complaining. This paper holds acrylic paintings without any issue.

Above and Beyond
Absolutely amazing product. Item was packed for shipping with care and consideration given to how easily products can be damaged if not properly reinforced. Company took extra steps to ensure no damage could occur during shipment. The product itself was beyond expectations. Sure, they claim the art paper is amazing and charge a premium for such claim. End result, I absolutely will buy more from this company. The paper IS as they claim and due to the diligence of packaging for shipment, it ensured I had a quality product in quality shape delivered to my doorstep. Excellent job NILtech, I will be buying more very soon. You are now, my “go to” for quality art supplies. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (That was a “thank-you” for each of the kiddos your company represents) Good job mom and dad!

A workhorse for me!
I love these sketchbooks! I am starting on my 5th one and they are very substantial, will hold up to many mediums and glues. I use my books to work out my mixed media art and to journal and to keep bits of correspondence and inspirations. By the time I fill a book it's heavy and so far these have been perfect! They are big so I have plenty of scribble room and the pages are perforated in case I wanted to remove one, but not so fragile they come apart by themselves. The paper is a lovely tan color and takes colored pencil, inks and acrylic well. My only fear is they will be discontinued!

FANTASTIC Sketchpads.
These sketchpads are FANTASTIC! I purchased the double (2) pack of the black and the double (2) pack of the toned tan twice, so I have four of each. I wish they came in toned gray but I opted to go with the strathmore 400 toned gray version because the toned gray version wasn't available by this company. Fantastic paper quality. They come very nicely packaged in a nice tight shrink wrap with foam in the spiral to prevent the sketchpads from getting squished and damaged. Also, they come with 70 sheets per pad, which is the most I've seen in a toned sketchpad this size. Most of the time you're getting 30-50 sheets. The paper texture is very nice with a bit of tooth yet still smooth. The black Paper is also heavier than the tanned version but both have a nice thick consistent feel to them. I will definitely be ordering more from this company. Very nice sketchpads! You will not regret your purchase, buy them!

Surprisingly Very Good
This review if from my first impressions. Will update after I use it with various mediums. It came saying I won I ruler, but the URL doesn't work, maybe they're sold out, but will email them.Anyway. I LOVE the darker shade of Tan they used. It is darker than Strathmore Toned Tan (STT). STT is about 80 lbs while Nil Tech's is 107 lbs, so I can't wait to test it out.Another thing I like is that the paper has very little (almost none) Fiber Inclusions. STT has fiber inclusions which is ok if you're going for that look, but I prefer none and this sketchbook does a good job with that. Looks very smooth. Also, It has 70 sheets of paper while STT has 50.Oh! Just like they showed on their product picture, this sketchbook is True Size and micro perforated. SO, if you tear out a sheet, the dimensions of the paper will still be 9x12. It's a pet peeve of mine when sketchbooks aren't True Sized. Again, I really like their shade of Tan they used. Darker than STT, but lighter than Borden/Riley Kraft paper. Will update with art after i Use it. But so far it seems really good. Slimantha is done with posca, boxing chick in marker, faye in chalk pencils. Hope this helps. :)

a nice heavy warm tone paper
This is a great alternative to the Strathmore warm toned paper. The paper is brighter, warmer, and most of all heavier. That extra 27lbs really makes a difference, especially working with any wet media. The bleed through still happens but to a much lower degree. The added warmth of the tone also helps make people look good. My only niggle with the quality is the back board (back cover) should be sturdier. You'll want to use this on a flat surface or the sketchbook will bow/flex. It is my new favorite toned paper though!I just hope Niltech makes other sizes eventually. And maybe an even heavier stock.

Excellent Quality!
I love how this paper feels. I tested different brands of colored pencils, watercolor pencils with water, charcoals, sharpies and alcohol markers. The alcohol markers bled through a little, but not bad. Skin tone colors can be tricky with the markers on tan colored paper, but it’s worth playing with. I found the prismacolor, artist’s loft, and Faber-Castell pencils look much better than some of the other colored pencils I’ve used. I haven’t tried the Castle Art pencils yet, but look forward to trying them out. Definitely worth the money spent! 😁. Looking forward to trying the other sketchbooks of this brand! Especially since they’re made from recycled materials. 🥰🥰🥰
