This box set is worth the price even though he has released many albums. All the songs on all four cds are great. And it comes with a book on his life and his music this is a must have. Dont pass this legend up this is the box set to have.

Got to love this box set of classic blues hits. Listen and you will hear how others have copied the songs for a younger generation

Excellent collection from a true master.

Bought this for my husband who is a HUGE John Lee Hooker fan. He was thrilled; many songs he didnt have and the songs he did have were a clearer version. We are bother pleased with this collection and enjoyed looking through the small book that it comes with. The book is cool enough to leave out on the coffee table.

i could've been the first to review this item, but i'm too slow moving and first gotta get my mind set straight on the record to see what i gotta say. well, it is a fine selection and anyone who has absolutley no John Lee Hooker discs, this is a MUST. disc one contains mostly the songs released as Vee Jay singles, disc two has a couple more gems but at the end of the list runs to the material that has already been released on other CDs complete, not as these selections. if you'd like to here John Lee Hooker as such a cross-section, that's wonderful, it's concise. the booklet is also very intersting since there isn't much available on the life of John Lee Hooker, "Boogie Man" by Charles Shaar Murray is probably THEE John Lee Hooker biographical reference.while i'm at it ... John Lee Hooker - Come and See about me: The Definite DVd and John Lee Hooker - That's My Story with interviews and concert footage make nice additions to this CD Box Set.JohPWilbrand

John is a great boogie guy and his music lives on and this is a must have box set he help form rock music
