We have several, they work so great. Easy mechanism that doesnt overly complicate things. It just spins around and deposits food through gravity. No real way for it to get jammed. Theres an easy to use timer, and its fairly simple to refill. Its a bit awkward for rimmed tanks with lids but its doable!

A little larger than I expected which wasn't a bad thing, timer was easy to set for feeding and is really great for everyday use along with being gone for the weekend. I would definitely buy this again. Very easy to fill and affix to your aquatic tank. The fish food dispenses absolutely perfect due to being able to adjust the amount dispensed each time. It doesn't matter if it's flake or pellet food. The door has never gotten stuck and works as it should. An excellent product for the price. I will say that I have a hexagonal tank; therefore I had to place this on the front. Still giving 5 stars even with the size.

I purchased the FREESEA Aquarium Automatic Fish Feeder for my home aquarium to ensure my fish are fed regularly, especially when I’m away. This device has largely met my expectations, providing a convenient and reliable feeding solution with just a minor adjustment needed for my setup.The automatic feeder is easy to install and program. It offers multiple settings to customize the feeding schedule and quantity, which is great for maintaining a consistent feeding routine. The build quality is solid, and it operates quietly and efficiently.However, I did encounter an issue with the amount of food dispensed, particularly for my smaller tank. Initially, the feeder dispensed more food than necessary, which can be problematic in smaller aquariums where overfeeding can quickly lead to water quality issues. To remedy this, I placed a piece of tape over part of the dispenser’s mouth. This simple modification allowed me to better control the portion size, ensuring my fish received the right amount of food without overloading the tank.This adjustment was a small but necessary step to make the feeder work for my specific needs. It’s something to be mindful of for those with smaller tanks. Adjusting the dispensing mechanism or using a similar modification can help prevent overfeeding.Apart from this, the feeder has been a great help. It’s been reliable in dispensing food at the set times, and I haven’t encountered any jamming or malfunctioning issues. The peace of mind it offers, knowing my fish are fed even when I’m not around, is invaluable.

I bought thisnforbwhen we go on vacation trips. It's was really simple to get going. I set it a week before so I could watch it's operation and get the food drops dialed in. By day 3 it wasn't working right. I filled with it some and got it right as rain again. By day 3 again it was not dumping food. Simple fish flakes, nothing fancy. I ended up trowing it away and asked a friend to feed them instead. Not the investment when you can't trust it.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this automatic fish feeder because I was going to be out of town for a few days and wanted to make sure my fish were well-fed while I was away. I’m really impressed with how easy it was to set up!One of my favorite features is the adjustable feeding amount—you can control exactly how much food is dispensed, which is great for preventing overfeeding. I also love the timer options. You can set it to feed every 8, 12, or 24 hours, which gives you plenty of flexibility depending on your tank’s needs.It gave me peace of mind knowing my fish were taken care of while I was gone. Highly recommend this feeder for anyone who travels or just wants a reliable backup for daily feeding!

This replaces a much older Eheim automatic feeder that stopped working when insects climbed in and gummed up the inner workings to destroy the fan and tumbler.Feeder holds a LOT of food! I am using it for a 75 gallon tank of mostly goldfish, 3 of which are 2.5” long while the 5 others are between 8” and 11”, plus 4 Corydoras catfish and a Plecostomus. I needed to enlarge the portal for the food drop, by trimming the plastic strip that fits on the glass lid. I chose the battery powered version rather than rechargeable or plug in versions. The sliding adjuster for the opening that dispenses the food, is a bit stiff. When refilled, you must try several food drops away from your tank, preferably on a piece of paper, so you can see just how much food is dispensed in a drop! Don’t just refill and reattach to your tank, or you could have an overfeeding or underfeeding catastrophe in the making.I use the 1 feeding/24 hours cycle in my tank. When I refill the food container, I carefully determine how wide the opening slide needs to be for dispensing the proper amount of food based on pellet size, and test it manually several times. This means putting the test food back in to either the original container, or use the paper to put all of it back through the slot (I haven’t been successful at removing the whole slot portal yet, so this takes time). The 24 hour timer seems to reset itself if you use the manual setting to figure out how much food is dispensed, so my workaround is to take out 1 battery, the replace it - and the next day at the desired feeding time, restart the 24 hour timer. A little cumbersome, but it works for me.My Plecostomus gets fed wafers separately; they wouldn’t fit in this feeder. I can’t imagine using flakes or crisps, based on the feeding portal size. To date, I have not had the hole cover get gummed up by food sticking to it, as reported by other users. I also haven’t used it long enough to know how long the batteries last.
