I believe lamp oil would need something to act as a wick, but theoretically I guess you could. For light purposes though, as I'm not sure that would be safe to cook over. Alcohol cubes, gel, or liquid made for cooking would be much better. For heat, anything flammable would work, but depending on where you are (indoors/outdoors) fumes could be a safety issue. There are alcohol cubes made for use indoors, and are much easier to carry than liquid. So just keep in mind where and how you plan to use your stove. I love mine!

Adapt, Improvise, overcome! Perforate a can lid, shape a can lid with a ballpein hammer, tent pegs laid across tent pegs! Or, simply purchase a second stove for spare parts. I have used another brand of this style stove daily for more than 5 years, and the lower fuel holder burned out after a year of daily use. So, a can that holds 28oz of chicken fits perfectly, use a church key and make vents. Think it through, make it work.

It is the same design, these stoves are usually made in China, they are probably all made by one company and rebranded by GasOne and Ohuhu and whoever else sells them. Some are sold with or without different features, like the BBQ grill. The primary reason I bought the GasOne stove was it had the BBQ grill piece, and it was cheaper and had faster Prime delivery to where I live than the Ohuhu stove. The only difference is the logo etched on the side of the stove, the quality of materials and construction is the same.
