No-compromise upgrade over a traditional lighter

I've had one of these for a few months now at least. As mentioned in the review title, it's literally just a straight upgrade to a traditional lighter with no downsides I can see so far. One key feature this unit has that others like it don't is the dual-arc feature. Most arc lighters (in 2023) are single-arc - these work fine but you have less surface area AKA you have to be more precise and it might take a little longer to get flames going. The dual arc feature effectively gives you a "plane" of plasma to push into what ever you're lighting instead of a single line - easier, faster, and really bridges the gap between arc and traditional lighters (pun intended). To compare with traditional lighters, let's imagine we're using one of the traditional long-neck versions. You hold the tip to your candle and pull the trigger. Nothing happens (because there was no gas when you pulled the trigger). You pull it again and the flame lights. Now, you may not think much of this, because this is just the normal experience of a lighter, but it will stick out like a sore thumb after using an arc lighter: when you pull the trigger on an arc lighter, you get an arc. Every time. Wind, rain, sleet, or snow.Let's say you were maybe not so prepared and somehow allowed your lighter to get low and run out of fuel. I think many of us have a backup lighter (or ten) somewhere since they're so cheap. I'd still recommend doing that, but I don't expect to use mine. I'm not sure about you but I have much more convenient access to electricity than I do to lighter fluid. Since the arc lighter is an electric device, it can report how much battery it has left very easily (this one uses 4 LEDs corresponding to 25% increments). When you see the LEDs getting low, you just plug it in (just like you would your phone). I've had to charge mine twice, but even if I had to do it 200 times by now - it's so easy to do, and so easy to know that you need to do it, that it does not matter.And... that's really it. Is it going to change your life? No. But it's a useful tool and it's superior to traditional lighters. I like that it allows me to not need to use fuel, both for monetary reasons and for the admittedly infinitesimally small positive impact to taking care of our planet. I don't see any reason to not have one as my primary lighter ever in the future, and right now, this specific model is the one I recommend, until a triple arc model comes out, or one that is more obviously user serviceable in the event of device failures (this one may be, but I can't confirm)

Perfect Tic Taser

This is the one, maybe not black colored as it can be easy to loose. Would be nice if it was shaped with a square at one end like how cones are designed so they don't roll all over the damn road when they get knocked over. Besides it rolling away on you this is the ideal all fire-starting purpose plasma cross-arc electric lighter. The tip is perfect for getting exactly where you need the arc to go and lights up a respectable radius so things catch when you mean them too and not after 90 seconds of fiddling with a single arc.I discovered last summer that electric lighters are the best at tick removal. A quick second on the arc and a tic is totally stunned and can be pulled out of the host with ease. Doesn't pass voltage onto host (unless you touch by accident which leaves a little plasma burn). If you hold it onto the tic for too long (more than 3 seconds) the tic may explode due to the internal temperature rising too quickly. This action is inadvisable as this could spread disease particles throughout the air, it's unclear if these disease cells remain intact or not.

Great arc lighter, fun and safe to use, but 1/3 failed after few uses.

Loved this dual arc long lighters, great for candles and gas stoves but also cigarettes or even twigs for starting a nice campfire. My only complain is that one of the first 3 i bought, failed after 2-3 uses: no arc, no lights toggling it on/off, not even charging. Out of curiosity, i pry the thing open and realized the internal sliding microswitch (trigger) broke. Already ordered 2 more, hoping this was just a fluke, not the indication of a faulty product. I took only one star hoping the rest just keep working

worth the money, i would get two, one to use if the other is on charger.

its a good product, if i were to suggest any changes, i would do 2 things... first, color the top so its different than the bottom, it would make it easier at a glance to know what way to hold it. the second one is, the power switch would be better if it (if only for feel) had a click when lighting it. the flat button sometimes throws me off a little bit.

Long lasting use, arc flame lighter. I like this purchase

Size of a very long pen, sturdy heavy quality make, purple pinkish flame. Push out flame terminal points, press & hold round button for flame. Wind has no effect on flame. Rechargeable, came with cable. Thank you seller

Worked for a few months, now can’t depress the button

It worked well for a few months, but now it’s facing a weird issue. It takes charge, but suddenly I’m unable to depress the button to use the lighter! Disappointed considering I opted for this one at a slightly higher price point over others with longevity in mind.

Favorite style of lighters

I mostly use these for incense lighting. The double arc and space up front make it easier to use than the bendable single arc style. The single arc style are used for our candles and lighting paper for the grill. Battery usually last about a month of lighting 1 incense per day.

1st faulty, 2nd ok

The first one I received stopped taking a charge after a couple recharges. It still continued to operate, just not charge. I exchanged it and the 2nd unit seems to be holding up very well. Still taking a charge, but given how infrequently you need to charge it, I’m still worried it may fail too.As for the arc lighting part itself? It works. Due to the small spacing it can be a bit tricky to light some things, but for the most part it is very easy.Oh also, this may seem obvious, but if you use a magnetic charger with exposed metal around the outside, remember to take the head connector out of the lighter. You will shock your hand otherwise.
