This is such a great product for fun and learning.Our 6 year old can follow the instructions and build the smaller circuits. Also a great tool for quality parent - child time, building the more complex circuits together.While there are less expensive products on the market, the quality of this one is excellent and the range of different circuits you can build is great. Would say it is definitely value for money.

Bought as a Christmas gift for a 10-year-old grandson. He loves it, and had the first two experiments done in no time. He is already asking questions about how it works, some of which I can answer. It seems robust, with big pieces to join together. So far as I can tell, it can't be wrecked by joining things up wrongly.

Kids love it easy to use instructions are easy to follow one happy child.

Excellent product. Little boy loves it and has built many items with it. Keeps him busy and goes around the house testing things, especially to see if the soil in the plants is wet enough!

We bought this in 2012 for our oldest son. He loved it and spent many hours playing with it. We got it out for our youngest son a few weeks ago and sadly the spring had broken in the battery unit. A quick google and we found John Adams has part replacements available - for about £2.99 for a new battery unit; the kit was good to go again. Our youngest loves it as much as his older brother did.Fantastic toy which entertains kids for ages. Lots of learning opportunities disguised as fun play. Instructions are clear and the parts are robust with everything fitting neatly in the box. Highly recommended.

This is a Christmas present for my son, aged 8. I have researched electric circuit set for his age range and found this to have the best review particularly regarding quality. The box contains lots of interesting pieces and an instruction book showing 100 experiments with assembling guidance.

Hours of fun for my young boy

The John Adams brands deservedly has a really poor reputation for producing toys that are overpriced and don't live up to the hype but John Adams have excelled themselves here and have created a set that offers hours and hours of fun for a great price. Despite the John Adams branding, this is one toy that I can wholeheartedly recommend to others.The set is officially recommended for children over the age of eight years old which I think is a fairly accurate recommendation if you are intending to have children playing with this independently with little adult intervention. My middle son was slightly under the minimum age recommendation when he first received this set, however, but this did not affect his enjoyment at all. He did need some assistance initially to understand how all of the pieces fit together and how they are represented in the pictorial instructions as not all of the pieces are immediately obvious although it is simplified as much as it can possibly be.My sons have their favourite experiment with this set and it is, without question, the one which causes a plastic spinner to fly up into the air. This is one of the first experiments in the booklet and consists of a fairly simple circuit so it is very quick and easy to put together but the results are very visually impressive. It is so straightforward that my ten year old son is able to build the circuit from memory without needing to refer back to the instructions at all and has been able to do this for a year or two.Some of the experiments are not quite as successful and it can be a little disappointing and frustrating to spend time putting together some of the more complex circuits for the results to be less than great. Experiment number 75, for example, is supposed to be a basic radio and takes quite a while to build. Whilst the completed circuit does work and there is an audible radio crackling we have struggled to get any proper recognisable music or sounds coming from the completed 'radio'. There are similar circuits that produce more impressive results from the small speaker though.We've owned this set for several years now and it is something short of a miracle that the entire set remains intact and not a single piece of equipment has ever gone astray. Highly recommended
