After buying 6 different "Android Auto / Apple Carplay screens" to fit into my 2012 Volt and finding none of them performed to my expectations (my other car is a 2021 Mazda 3, with factory Android Auto, so my expectations were to match that; stupid me, I know. How dare I have high hopes for a product category). I ended up returning all of them and instead, tried a few devices that'd receive bluetooth audio from my phone, and transmit it to the car via an audio cable while powering through a simple USB port.I attempted to get my hands on one of those Anker Roav devices with Google Assistant, but I simply couldn't find any at a reasonable price (are those discontinued? I remember hearing about those a few years ago and though it'd be a good addition to my car if my vehicle didn't have a built-in solution; like my current 2012 volt; but, couldn't find any similar products anymore). So, fine, this one doesn't let me call up the assistant and ask to send a whatsapp message hands-free, but audio quality is great, microphone is good as well; and the addition of physical, pressable buttons for play/pause, rw and ff are an absolute must for me.If there was one thing I'd change, it'd be the colorful light ring around the whole thing. I get the use of a power light, but I'd much rather have a cleaner status led somewhere to keep a simple look in my car, rather than a multi-colored static light that's always on.All in all, I would totally buy this product again and recommend it to anyone with similar needs to mine. A simple, high quality way of adding physical controls and bluetooth audio RX to your car or home stereo.

Super easy to install in an older Subaru Legacy, and much better sound that cigarette lighter FM transmitter bluetooth adapters. Crystal clear sound and great, easy controls!

It works well, it connects automatically, the battery has never faltered since it stays plugged into the cigarette lighter, the value is right on par for the money. The reason I give 4 stars is because the sound quality is noticeably different from a standard 3.5mm aux chord.

Easy to set up and use. Allows for keeping your tunes in one place (phone). Also works well for receiving calls - it does require one hand to click to answer calls. I have not tried it in conjunction with "hey google - call....." so I can't speak to that.

This thing works great. The sound is crystal clear. My only "issue" is that if your power port is always on it times out eventually. Of course it not draining your battery 24/7 isn't really a bad thing. Just unplug it and plug it back in and it powers right back up. If you've got a phone from one of the stupid manufactures that don't think anyone wants a 3.5mm port, this is a great option if your car doesn't support Bluetooth audio.

I have an old car without bluetooth built-in, and when my previous bluetooth audio adaptor died, I went shopping for a new one. I'm very glad I found this JOYROOM device, as it addresses almost every shortcoming of my previous one, at least in terms of using in the car.- Pros: The device has no batteries, and is only powered by USB. This mean, as long as it's plugged into a USB port on in your car as intended, the device will turn off when the engine turns off. My previous adaptor had an internal battery, which meant that I had to manually turn off the power on the adaptor as I got off the car, or else my phone would just keep streaming audio to it. Also, to conserve the battery, the adaptor would go into power-save mode, and I had to cycle the power on it manually to make it come alive again. Batteries can be nice in some uses but not in the car, and the JOYROOM has none of these annoyances.- Pros: Reliable bluetooth connections, I've had a 100% connection rate over the last few weeks of use. I'm guessing that the latest bluetooth 5.3 version helps.- Meh: Multi-device support. This isn't documented anywhere, but you CAN connect multiple devices with this device. Here's how I did it: 1) Pair your first phone. The JOYROOM should come out of the box in pairing mode, but if not, press the + and - buttons simultaneously for 5 sec to get it into pairing mode. 2) Once the first phone is fully paired and working, leave the first phone alone, put the JOYROOM in pairing mode again, and this time connect the second phone like you did the first one. 3) After the second phone is paired, completely turn off the device, and upon reboot you should have both phones auto-connect to the JOYROOM. Multi-device connections is very important for me, and I almost returned this device when it first seemed like it wasn't going to work. I'm taking one star off because the feature is not really documented, and although it's been working 100% so far, I worry that one day it might not... I also don't know if I can connect more than 2 devices, as I haven't tried...- FYI: The implementation of the multi-device bluetooth is such that the devices hand off the connection to each other as needed. For example, when music is playing out of one phone, while the other phone is providing map directions, the music will stop playing when the voice map directions come on, then go back to the music. The hand-off is a little laggy, with a 2~3 sec pause each time it happens, so it does suck the life out of listening to music with the constant pauses. I dunno if there's a way to implement multi-device connections with audio coming through simultaneously instead of handing off? What we do in cases described above is to turn off the voice directions in maps...- Meh: A relatively minor quibble, but my JOYROOM had double-sided tape already applied on the back side of the body, with a spare in the box, whereas I would have preferred no tape on the body and 2 double-sided tape pieces in the box.- Mehs: No audio out of the USB so the USB is just for power, but the audio quality out of the aux jack has been satisfactory so not a real complaint. As an iPhone user, I wonder if it would make a difference if the JOYROOM supported the AAC bluetooth codec, but again not really complaining since my car is so noisy that I probably can't hear the difference anyway.All in all, once I figured out how to connect multiple devices to it, the JOYROOM has been almost perfect for my needs in the car, with 100% reliable connections so far. I'll update my review if I run into any problems, but so far so good!
