Hairy Bikers Black/Silver Electric Deep Fill Non Stick Double 2 Pie Maker Cooker Machine

Arrived today & I was straight on with making a batch of chicken & mushroom pies.The pie maker doesn't come with a recipe book but I do have the Hairy Bikers "Perfect Pies" cook book & I chose their "deep filled chicken & mushroom" pie filling.I used ready made pastry & purchased a sheet on shortcrust for the bottoms & a sheet of puff for the pie lids. From both sheets it made 5 pies in total.Anyway, I found it a little fiddly at first & trying to make sure the pastry is evenly placed in the bottom of the pie maker.I placed one ladle of filling inside the pie which came to the top of the pastry case (making sure it was a 80/20 ratio as in 80% chicken & mushroom with 20% white sauce) .I brushed the lid with water & placed on top of the pastry case & filling & brushed with egg wash. Expected the pie maker to close easily but it kept pinging open. Anyway, I switched on & realised the pie maker was hotting up nicely, sealing & adding the little pattern around the edge.I asked "Alexa" to remind me in 9 minutes & indeed once the 9 minutes were up I lifted the lid & low & behold I was greeted with a couple of beautiful pies & not a "soggy bottom" at all!The best thing is, I know exactly what is going into my pies. The possibilities are endless in your creations.The Hairy Bikers "Perfect Pies" cookery book has recipes for various sweet/savoury pastries & i cannot wait to try fruit pies, quiches, tarts & of course more savoury pies.

Superb piece of kit that us easy to use and clean. The results are excellent either using home made pastry or shop bought shortcrust.Tried pulled pork and mushroom, chicken leek and mushroom and cheese onion and potato. All brilliant

Made a big batch of roast beef pies and froze them. Love this product, it gives you the cutter for both tops and bottoms. Nice and small so can fit in cupboard, only downside would be because it's not removable so unable to put in dishwasher, apart from that very happy would definitely recommend

First time I used this I followed the instructions to heat first. What a disaster the pastry just shrivelled down and I was unable to add the filling. Now I put the pastry in add the filling and put the pie crust on then switch on. Pity it does not come with a recipe book.

Excellent product. I use it to make slimmingworld pies using low fat wraps. They come out perfect.

Most disappointing. Very difficult to get the pie's out when cooked and as the components dont come apart it is also difficult to clean. Even though it says Deep Dish the pie is only very small. Luckily it was only cheap so will try another pie maker.

Got this today and love it !Made hubby some pies with a healthy filling instead of the processed crap he usually buys .I used ready rolled pastry on this occasion pre cooked a filling then cooked the pie for 9-10 minutes it’s pretty crusty and stays that way too the extra pastry round the edge just breaks off ,see pic .Can’t wait to do some fruit pies .

It is possible this simple gizmo can make great pies BUT HOW? The paper in the box really doesn't give you a clue. I thought the beardy bike geysers might have helped out on this as their name is all over it but they just trousered the dosh without bothering to help. Peasants. I've gone off them.
