This remote is pretty intuitive--it has to be since it came wrapped in bubble-wrap with no instructions. Nonetheless, all you need to do is put in batteries and it works extremely reliably--with more features than the original had and at less than 1/3rd the cost of the Sony replacement model--and this review is from a Boomer who tends not to find electronic things intuitive.

After 5 years my LG outdoor Tv works perfectly and I love it. Recently, when I was getting my deck ready for the Summer I realized that the remote was just not turning on. Changed batteries but didn’t work. I went to my favorite retailer, AMAZON, and even though 5 years old, still found a brand new remote described as a “ magic remote” by Maufacturer. I paid for a new one ( not refurbished) which was about $25.00. Not expensive due to all of its “magic functions”.lol It works perfectly and I received it the next day. As a side note, knowing The LGTV is old in electronic terms, (5yr,) but is actually like new, I thought about getting another back up remote to have on hand. Imagine my surprise, when at a discount store in my area, they had the exact remote in original packaging for $3.00!( major discount bin)!! I would never even have looked or spent the time trying to find any retail store that still carried it so it was a real surprise. Thanks to Amazon, Prime, I saved time and ultimately a lot of money since the product is no longer manufactured. A new outdoor TV would have been in the thousands of dollars and can’t really be adjusted or turned on manually due to the custom encasing treatment designed to protect the TV from outside elements. Once again, Amazon has solved a problem and filled a need which, in this day and age a pretty valuable resource. Magic LG remote is fantastic and easier than most remotes, especially for those of us that have stiffness in their hands!

Purchased this remote as a like-for-like replacement for my Sony Bravia TV. The order arrived next day and there was no need to pair or set up the remote to the tv - worked instantaneously. It did need 2 triple A batteries however since they did not come with the unit.

Remote came in bubble wrap and an envelope. No instructions. No paperwork. Nothing. I was thinking I’d be returning this, since the voice function didn’t seem to work. After some time on Google, I found that I had to go into the settings of my Sony TV to pretty much release the old remote, and activate the voice function on this new remote. It took a couple of times, but it worked. All that being said, the remote appears to work just like the original Sony remote. Some instructions would’ve been helpful though. That’s why I took away one star.

The media could not be loaded.  Well okay I bought this universal remote from Hisense for my Hisense TV which my Hisense TV is a older model it's not a smart TV one of my first HD TVs I got back in 2012 and it's been working great ever since these are some Workhorse TVs I call them but the remote control has had its day because it's the original remote control that came with it power button stopped working and it was hard to change the channels so the next best thing to do is to find something to take its place and Amazon has something that look promising a universal remote from Hisense that works on all the TVs okay what I got to lose I'm going to go ahead and get it this remote works great it controls what I need for it to control with the older TV not only that I can also use it on the smart TV I have a Roku TV 55 inch Hisense TV and it said that this remote control works on all the Hisense so I will use it for both when I need to but I only need it for the older model one it comes in a tool pack that's the one I bought so just in case one breaks down which I hope it doesn't I can always go to the other one that I have so far it works great on both TVs I have tried it I got a bang for my buck about $12 and something so I'm not sad at all or disappointed so this would do me fine but when it comes down to the TVs this is my brand I love these TVs they last a long time they look good and I haven't went wrong since I bought my first one so that's what keeps me coming back far as the remote control goes it lasted a long time but it finally went out had to get something different or something better they had what I was looking for not only that don't best thing about this remote you don't have to put in no code to get it to work it works fine so if you have a license TV or like that I recommend this product give it a try test it for yourself I guarantee you will be happy with it some things might not work it depends what type of model TV you have but a lot of things will work this is a replacement remote control it's not the original one that came with it you would have to order the original one that came with it to get everything to work properly the way you want it but far as getting channels and volumes turned up or down and changing inputs to watch different things you can't go wrong so give it a try you may like it just as much as I like it oh and one other thing my first TV is a 42-in TV regular television not smart TV so this remote works great on non-smart TVs by Hisense so give it a try if you got old TV do you like to get back started and you needed a remote this will work fine have fun enjoy

This replaced a remote we have had for several years. No programming was needed. Worked great right out of the package. Happy with the remote and price.

this remote worked as intended, all the same features as the original remote had, the price was right and the remote works great, i will be buying a few more to keep put up as our couch loves to eat them.

Bought this for a Sony Bravia Smart TV that was listed under the description. Works well, everything works. I didn’t need to program or anything. I will say there’s a slight lag when using it but it’s not a deterrent for me. I would buy again if needed.

Don't buy this product, it's totally useless. Voise assistance not working and it's difficult to pairing with TV. Quality is not good.in remote cover only it's mentioned MRP-399 but in amazon they are selling this for 799.
