Whitmor Laundry Hamper with Rope Handles Bamboo, 12.25x16.25x23.375, Natural Stain 6277-6702

Looks incredible in person. Nice size for a hamper basket. It’s as tall as our clothes cabinet. Stands sturdy and the color is beautiful. We got this cause our dog kept stealing our clothes out of our old hamper. He can’t access this one.

I wanted a wood trash can for our office that would be big enough to hold full sheets of paper without crumpling them up. This hamper is perfect for how we're using it, but I'm not sure how well it would work for laundry. The bottom is a thin piece of wood-no more than a 1/4" thick. The hamper keeps its shape using a thin piece of wire bent into a rectangular shape-if that wire gets bent, your hamper may no longer be the right shape. Plus, the sides of the hamper are made of thin bamboo slats, if you ever snap one/some, (because you shoved too much in, or its in a high traffic zone and got bumped) it would not be easy to fix.I'm not using the cloth liner at all, using instead tall trash bags we can easily lift out and carry to the recycle bin. I'm not really using the lid, either, just as a way to cover up my files or laptop from view.In summary, I think there are lots of ways to use this hamper creatively, but probably not in heavy duty or in ways it could get banged up. It's probably best set somewhere safe, and items lifted in or out of it (using the liner or trash bags).

It looks nice and had that bamboo smell reminiscent of the jungles of Malaysia. It is NOT a solid hamper; the hamper body rolls out, but it is stronger than fabric. It is not obvious that it is so malleable. Once assembled, it looks beautiful.The hamper is delivered on time in a long, flat box (Picture 5) that is lightweight and easy to remove.The lid is not attached to the body of the hamper (Picture 2). It comes with a fabric liner that easily slips inside.The pieces are easy to figure out how they go (Picture 4). The top and bottom of the hamper are made of sturdy cardboard.The trick, and the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars, is the final step of assembly. It is very difficult to place the wire square loop inside the opening of the bamboo hamper body. I had to pry it using a flat wrench (Picture 3). There isn't a lot of give in the bamboo to accommodate the wire loop. I almost punctured the hamper with the wrench. Once it was assembled, I loved it, but I almost gave up. I was thinking of returning the hamper before I damaged it in the assembly. If possible, a strong person, or a long flat-head screwdriver, is needed to assemble.I got two of them about a month ago and they do look beautiful. I do not regret my purchase!

Update: 8/15/21 - Not only did the bottom mold, the sides will as well. DO NOT BUYTL;DR the liner and bottom will mold in less than a week if ANYTHING is wet.I threw the box away so cannot return, but I would not buy this again as it is currently designed.Pro's- Assembly was simple, even though the instruction were not well laid out. Its intuative enough where you dont really need the instructions overall.- Its sturdiness is ok as I have not had it collapse or anything but its not something you will want to carry around. If you plan to sit it and not move it then it will do fine.Con's- The bottom is a cardboard piece which is not very good as cardboard ruins with wetness.- The linear is not mold resistant and therefore I would highly encourage not putting anything wet in here.Feedback for the creator.- Have a linear that has better moisture holding or wicking capabilities as its a laundry basket so towels and such will be wet.- Make the bottom open and have a wire mesh or plastic mesh at the bottom so that it does not mildew/mold easily.Wish I could return but now is to late.

This hamper looks nice, and is certainly easy and fast to set up. But unfortunately that's where the pros already stop. It was definitely not as sturdy as I hoped, and I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying it around while it was filled. The bottom is made of rather thin MDF board, which is held in place by 4 thin metal plates/hooks (presumably aluminum). I had ordered two of those hampers and returned them after I set the first one up. The lid was also bowed a bit, and had no lip to actually hold it in place, so it just sat on top.Like I said, great esthetics as long you're not planning on moving it around or put anything remotely heavy into it.

Worked perfectly for the location I wanted a laundry hamper.

It works well for storing paper and cardboard in the family room, next to the wood stove. We heat with wood, so needed a spot to throw all the paper and cardboard for starting fires that would blend in well and not be noticeable in the family room. This fit the need, and works well. I don't know how well it would hold up or how sturdy it would be for constant laundry use... truthfully, I'd probably add a thicker piece of plywood/particleboard on the bottom if I was going to use it for laundry.

At first I was a little skeptical about how big this was going to be or if it could even work in my situation. I have bought plenty of laundry hampers and none of them are for d my dog likes to pee on my dirty hamper and my dirty clothes it got to a point where I had to put a garbage bag over my hampers but with this one it’s worked really nice I my hamper and clothes don’t stink I think that might be from the plastic wood that’s on the outside of it I’m not sure if it’s plastic it just doesn’t feel like wood so I’m not sure of the material. But I really like it a lot very durable it was hard to put together it did seem a little lopsided when I was trying to put everything together so I definitely won’t disassemble it because putting it together wasn’t the easiest.
