Easy to use; it works. useful! recommend.

Product is relatively easy to use. In setting it up, I encountered a limitation in the number of characters a WiFi source name can have. If you are setting up your own router and using the BrostTrend to convert to Ethernet, you can control that in your router's WiFi set up. If you are taking WiFi that is provided to your building, you don't have control over that. Fortunately I was able to find other WiFi sources for 2.4 and 5 GHz bands that had sufficiently short names. Once it was set up, it worked as advertised.

Setting this up is more than a nightmare. It could be easy but every page on the setup site is also an advertisement for some monthly subscription whose login button is the largest one on the page. So when you see a big blue button at the top of the page that says "CONTINUE" you assume that's the button to push to continue with the setup. Nope. It takes you to a page where you first enter your name, address, etc. and before you know it, you've signed up for a monthly service. You don't realize it until it asks you for your credit card #. Then you realize that this was not part of the setup procedure, it was just tying to sell you something. There's no continue button that takes you to the next setup page. There's just this teeny tiny little blue arrow that you would not even normally see and it's right next to the big continue button. If you have big fingers it's nearly impossible to click the little arrow without clicking the continue button that would take you to a page to purchase something. Every page that you need to use to setup your device is misleading and is trying to sell you something. The setup pages look exactly like the advertisement pages so you never really know for sure what you are doing; setting up this device or filling in a form to purchase something.It seems that, for them, the main goal is to make money of these ads. The goal of connecting your device to your home network is not really relevant.

The BrosTrend AX1500 was very easy to set up via the included instructions. I used the WPS method and the device pretty much set itself up without any intervention from me. Connected cellphone to the device through wifi, went to the BrosTrend web site and set up the device password. Very easy setup and this device is functioning far beyond my expectations. I definately recommend this product and will purchase other products from BrosTrend as the need arises. To me, this is an excellent value for the cost.

I gave this this an honest try, I really did. It DOES work but the up and download speeds actually slowed down. I was hoping to speed up my connection from my Macbook Pro to my Fidium wireless router located on the other side of the apartment. When I'm next to the Fidium- I get about 230Mbps- when I'm where I want to actually be- I'm around 130Mbps. The BrosTrend set me back to about 50Mbps- even when I'm right next to it with the BrosTrend located halfway between the Fidium and my office. I tried 3 times... 3 strikes, it's going back. For the record- if I plug my Macbook directly into the Fidum with an ethernet cable- I get 980Mbps so I know all is well with the fiber connection itself. The BrosTrend is a fail... at least for me.** update- I decide to use this device strictly as an ethernet bridge which meant connecting the BrosTrend to my ethernet switch via ethernet cable. My Macbook is right next to my network switch in my office so why not? Well... MUCH different result. The throughput is over 500Mbps via the ethernet cable.So, at least in MY experience, if you set this up as an ethernet bridge - it'll work. I'm going to cancel my return because I can live without the wifi extension capability. Besides- I DO NOT like the fact the device creates another SSID in addition to my existing.In summary:if you want an ethernet bridge to / from your existing WIFI- this does the job quite well.

This extender/wireless to ethernet devicr does exactly what it is described to do. I had issues connecting with my mesh system and customer service responded within a short time of my correspondence. In less than 24 hours, we communicated 4 times and I am now connected. Thank you for AWESOME customer service and you can add compatibility with the TP-Link Deco BE5000 wifi7 system. I most definitely recommend this product and the manufacturer! While it does not function as a mesh node, it provides a very reliable internet connection in my garage and ethernet access for my printer.

This is a dual function device. Can be a Wifi extender to boost Wifi signal, or a WiFi to Ethernet adapter to connect wired devices to a WiFi network. I bought it JUST for the WiFi to Ethernet function, having checked carefully in the (sparse) online manual that you could choose the operating mode.Well, turns out you CANNOT disable the WiFi extender function, since they have changed the firmware (but NOT the documentation). So I'm left with a device INSISTS on grabbing Wifi channels that I dont need or want.Setup is a hassle too. The initial setup via wired ethernet works fine, but once the device has a WiFi connection then POW .. it reconfigures itself and you can only reconnect to the web interface by manually looking for the device in your routers device list and then using the IP address. Hardly user friendly. Oh, and a factory reset to by-pass that? ONLY VIA THE WEBUI .. so you are hosed.
