Love this shaker!
This has such a wonderful soft-textured sound, but still loud enough, and easy to hold. you can also get different effects depending on which direction you shake it, and for a quieter sound, use only one tube at a time. Be aware though, that it's a bit fragile - we had a similar one bite the dust when someone dropped it.

and it still works fine. Nice sound
One of the shakers busted after about nine months. Maybe it was my grip - I'm not a percussionist - but I wasn't exactly manhandling it either. I duct taped the open end after putting all the beads back in, and it still works fine. Nice sound.

Movers & Shakers
Playing a broad range of music styles as a drummer I came across the LP Soft Shake and instantly it has become my "go to" shaker. Provided that you have one or two over head microphones, these should serve you well across a broad range of music. You can somewhat adjust the "volume" of these shakers simply by getting closer to the microphone or having a greater distance from the mic when you need less volume. If you are strictly acoustic with no mic's, these may not be loud enough for you. In an acoustic situation that is not mic'ed you will likely need a more aggressive shaker that puts out more volume. Otherwise I'm extremely pleased with this shaker.
