Great match for my mSATA SSD

Got a nice deal on a mSATA SSD and this was the perfect opportunity to make my 4 year old laptop fly again.Pros: Cheap, light and doesn't seem to noticeably affect the SSD's performance. Looks and feels sturdy enough to hold the mSATA SSD inside a laptop and has a mini-USB which can be very useful if you want to use the SSD externally.Cons: Doesn't come with a cover, so if you use it externally the SSD will be exposed. That is odd since this adapter has a mini-USB port which is an invitation to use it as an external drive.Obs: Claims to be USB3.0 on the product description but the box only says it complies with USB 2.0. I didn't test the performance because I don't have USB3.0 ports and I'm using it as a main drive. Also, the box has no sort of branding which is also odd since the product page says it's by sold Syba. So, if you had any doubts, this definitely looks like some chinese OEM product.

Great gadget, but no extra performance, only more space and requires re-formatting your drives.

I only tried this briefly and it works very well. It is a bit pricey but it has the JBOD functionality besides RAID, which makes it very versatile. There are two catches: 1. You need to format clean your mSATA drives before anything works, except if you only have one mSATA connected and you want to use this converter as a simple mSATA to SATA converter.2. The two mSATA devices will use the bandwidth of a SINGLE SATA port. If your mSATA devices can reach ~500MB/s, two of them in RAID0 will be able to go to 1000MB/s. BUT even on a SATA3 port the bandwidth is only 600MB/s so there is NO net gain, and if you consider latency, don't expect any performance gains over a single drive. As such the only purpose of this is either for redundancy (RAID1), or to increase available space (either RAID0 or JBOD).Good luck.

Does what it says

Bought this adaptor to fit a mSATA drive I had laying around in my desktop PC.Works fine but would have benefited from a 2.5" caddy to mount it, cannot mount in old hard drive caddy as missing the side screws on the unit. All in all, does the job but not as slick as I would have hoped.

Works like a charm!

We are using Dell Latitude E7240 Ultrabook's and inside there'sLite-On IT 1.8" microSATA SSD 256 GB drive. Thanks to this Syba 2.5 mSATA SSD Adapterwe can now put mSATA SSD drive to other laptopfor example if Ultrabook's motherboardis broken or if Windows won't start even in safe modeand we need to rescue SSD drive data.(we use Hiren’s BootCD to rescue data)Also this adapter was delivered fast and promptly.Comes with 2 extra screws to fasten the mSATA cardto adapter.

Works like a charm

I recently bought an mSATA 120GB SSD, and was gearing up for getting a Gaming laptop, then changed my mind and got this. Absolutely no noticeable difference between this and a SATA SSD.If there was anything bad I'd say about it, it's a Medium mSATA, the screw hole is out of place, doesn't bother me, I managed to bypass that, but it still irritates me.

Cheap solution to put some mSATA SSD on your laptop

mSATA SSD stays properly locked. There's no case, so the SSD is exposed. There are wholes for screws but I couldn't properly hold the adapter to my laptop. It's fine for some HTPC/NUC but might not be safe for a laptop. Check your laptop to see how the HDD is held before buying this adapter.

check this is what you need rather than a cable conversion

I had to open the ssd case (voiding the warranty) and remove the module to fit the it on to the board as there is no room on this for the cased memory
