Comfortable, usefulness depends on your purpose
I ordered this brace to help with plantar fasciitis, as I had seen a video stating that keeping your foot flexed at night helps the plantar fascia to heal in the proper position. As I think I'm on the downslope of healing for this bout of plantar fasciitis, I thought I might as well try this inexpensive splint before investing in something more elaborate. As others have noted, it comes with no instructions. (I guess maybe on the side of the box? I didn't have my glasses on, so I couldn't really make out what was happening on the side of the box, but I didn't notice instructions with pictures or anything.) But you can figure it out by looking at the photos in this listing.I didn't have any trouble getting it on, but someone with mobility and/or flexibility issues definitely could struggle. What I did have trouble with, though, was getting it tight enough to keep my foot flexed. I think it kind of worked, and at least kept my foot from pointing all night. Let's say it kept my foot in a fairly neutral position all night. So, if that's all you need, or you'll be able to adjust it sporadically to tighten it up, then it could work for you.I will say, that I found it very comfortable and had no problem sleeping with it on.

Helps in between major flareups
I have occasional problems with planar fasciitis, but it seems to be less if I keep my foot flexed up during the night. When it really gets bad it needs more heavy duty brace. But using something less heavy duty and more comfortable in between those times, helps keep it from setting off the more painful flares. The one I had finally wore out, so I have been using this one and it is working out well. It's a little fussy to figure out but once it's done, it's easy enough to put on and then remove in the morning. Seems well made and will hopefully hold up a decent time.

Sorta of works
I will say that my foot hurts less in the morning after wearing this splint. My biggest complaint is the metal bar inside of it. I wish they would have fully enclosed it. You have to bend it to get your foot in the right position. It comes flat out of the box. At the top there is a little piece of velcro that keeps it from sliding out of it's sleeve. After you get everything attached a fixed the way you want it, if there is a little stretch from your foot, that velcro piece comes off and the metal splint wants to start sliding out. When this happens the whole split releases its tension and slides down.If metal piece would stay in place it would keep the splint tight all night. That is my biggest complaint.I also agree with most of the reviewers on here. The instructions on the side of the box are kind of useless. Very tiny and hard to read, even with readers.

Very difficult to adjust and instructions are unclear.
I have plantar fasciitis. It is no fun at all, and I thought this device might alleviate some of the discomfort. The adjustments of velcro are extremely hard to peel off, as there is nothing to grip as the edges of the velcro attach so firmly. If you have ANY osteoarthritis in your hands, you will not be able to grip the velcro and pull it apart to adjust it.The "flexible steel" is supposed to bend to fit the top of your foot, but there are no instructions about how to do this--where to bend it, and how much. I think a podiatrist should help anyone put this on the first time.Once it is snugly attached to your foot, you still have quite a bit of movement in pointing your toes. There is enough give in the straps that there isn't much tension on your arch where you need it. To snug those straps down tight enough to sttretch the arch, one has to almost cut off circulation!

Didn’t work for us.
This might work for some. But it didn’t work for us. Older adult with difficulty walking and plantar fasciitis. It twisted the foot too much creating more pain. But to be fair the foot it was used on was broken at one time so we might not be a good judge on the effectiveness of this product. Size was good but It didn’t work for us.

Lots of adjustments, good buy, details-
When I first put this on I realized that the aluminum bar they were talking about is fully enclosed (I didn't try to take it out) and I bent it slightly further out than I needed. This way my foot won't be in the way when I flex it upward. There's a lot of adjustments I can make so this fits, and while it holds my foot in place it doesn't lock it tightly in place. This is good because it allows for a little movement while still holding my foot where I want it.The instruction are on the outside of the box, and are suitable to get me started. Other adjustments can be made once it's on and I figured out the details. The downside to this is that the velcro strap is thin, so it's hard to get my fingers under it to peel it off.

Nope
The strap that goes around the foot quickly, I mean within seconds, slides away from the toes up towards the arch, failing to hold the foot in the stretched position and rendering the splint useless.

nice
This product worded as expected. It helps train my foot into a more natural position. I have less problems with my Achilles tendon and have had more range of motion when not wearing it. It is a little tricky to get on. There are various straps, so I often need help to keep my foot in the right position while working on the straps.
