Buckingham Pre-seasoned Premium Cast Iron Skillet Frying Pan Suitable for Induction Electric Gas Oven Safe Ideal for BBQ Grilling Cast Iron Pan for Healthy Cooking 20 Cm

This is a nice little 20cm cast iron pan (the 32cm refers to the length of the pan from tip of the handle to opposite end of the pan). The finish isn't particularly stellar; like all modern sand-cast cast iron pans, it has a rather nubbly texture that hasn't been polished down, so it will take a while to build up your seasoning vs older/antique pans, which generally start with a smoother finish. There's also a crease/divot irregularity on one side on the inside of the pan, but as it's half-way up the side it doesn't affect performance. Still, you would expect quality control to catch it.Despite the 'Buckingham' name, I can't find any information either on the packaging (which is minimal) or the company's website to suggest that this is made in the UK, which makes me suspect that, like most cheaper cast iron, it's made in China. That's fine, just something to keep in mind.The pre-seasoning on all new pans is a bit perfunctory; give it a good scrub with hot water and soap and a rough cloth, dry it well, and follow your favourite seasoning instructions (ie, rub it all over with oil, put it upside down in your oven at around 180 for a couple hours, and you're done).This small pan is the right size for crisping bits (not rashers) of bacon; a couple/few bacon rashers; a couple burgers; small (filet) steaks; etc. It's 20cm across the top rim and angles downwards for a smaller frying area of closer to 16cm (approximately).

Who doesn't love kitchenware that lasts for decades? The cast-iron skillet is surely the most superior skillet -- far more highly-evolved than its short-lived, aluminum friends. I'm convinced that as a species it will survive even a nuclear holocaust, and we should respect it thusly.This 20cm skillet is the perfect size for my pitiful convection hob, and I'm glad to be cooking again with something that I can season. If you know how to cook with and care for cast iron kitchenware, this is a great buy and will probably save you a lot of money over the years. However, if you have trouble cooking anything without burning it, yet are determined for cast iron, best keep the fire extinguisher handy and notify your landlord. Youtube is your best friend.

After first use (having carefully followed enclosed instructions) it showed a few patches where whatever coating film it was finished with had come off. The food stuck there at those patches. Second use, and more film came off. Thinking that all that has gone into the food, and not knowing how toxic it may be, I stopped using it altogether.

have been using this iron skillet for few years. very good quality, easy to clean. Have stir fried veggies, chicken fillets etc. you do have to scrape off the food bits though that might get stuck at the bottom. but i think that's normal for an iron skillet. i season with oli every time i wash dry it. keeps it in good condition.

This was a really well made product however it is very small (20cm max!)!! If you are looking for a pan to cook meals for more than one person I wouldnt recommend buying this! The product is excellent quality and the seller was very understanding when I asked for a refund.
