Counterfeit - Very thin, not waterproof, not windproof
I bought it for cold winters such as -10 degrees celsius or lower. It's so thin that in some areas there is no down inside with many hollow patches. This is meant to be 700 down fill, yet my North Face jacket which is 550 down fill is three times thicker. I wanted something much warmer to replace it, because is not keeping me warm when there are 0 degrees outside. The Amazon description says that it's waterproof, windproof with goose down. The labels have no such information whether is windproof or waterproof or none, but it says is duck down (minimum 85% down), with 700 fill power down with down defender. Their Amazon description is just false marketing.I think it might be fake because it's made in Vietnam and the Marmot logo is white while in the photos it shows to be navy blue like the coat. Also some feathers are sticking out. What I love is the bright colour, but this wont keep me warm in the middle of the winter. With one jumper on XS is just a bit tight. This coat feels more like 300 down fill rather than 700.It has to go back because is for spring not winter. For sure this is a counterfeit.

Lovely warm coat
Absolutely love this coat! It is by far the warmest coat I have ever owned. It has lots of pocket storage and a lovely big hood. The sizing on these coats is quite small based on mine. I'm 5ft 4 and usually wear a size 12 on my top half and 14 on my lower half due to my large hips. I have had issues with previous coats ripping around the hips because of this! I bought the XL size which fits perfectly. I was concerned that it would be too big around the top but isn't too bad. When the coat is fully done up, it can look a bit sack-like but I opted to wear a wide elasticated black waist belt with mine to make it more form fitting. I keep the belt in one of the inner chest pockets when not being used.Recently wore this coat on a trip to Copenhagen in December where temperatures were about 0-2°C and it kept me lovely and toasty. Not once did I feel cold! Definitely recommend this coat and would buy a Marmot coat again.

An average coat at an inflated price
Coat is nicely shaped and seemed to be warm when first tried on. However, I wore it to work in 6 degree outdoor temperature and I still felt chilly. My old Toggi padded jacket was much warmer. Sizing is a slightly on the small side. I am a slim size 12 (and 5ft 2in) but the medium size is only just big enough. However, I am pretty sure that the large size would be too big. Can't win. The length is fine, about 3 ins above the knee. The hood is totally stupid! I eventually figured out that the hood tabs tuck inside the collar and grip the velcro inside the collar hem. Also when fully up the hood is like a tunnel, so long and narrow that you can barely see out! Folding back the fur trim helps but it's not ideal in windy conditions as it unfurls again. Overall an expensive coat that could do with some pratical improvements. Some brighter colours would be nice, too. Every coat I own is navy!

PERFECT winter coat
I really love this coat and feel it was worth the investment. I had a hip-length, non-hooded down Marmot jacket years ago I remember being really warm, so I thought I would give this coat a try. I'm very pleased. It is very very warm, has great detailing with softness near the collar and in the sleeves, and the fur hood is of good quality. I'm quite petite (5'3 49 kilos) and most coats overwhelm my frame, but this is one is flattering as far as down coats go- nice sleek cut. Feel great wearing it around London.

Great longline jacket
I have historically been a great fan of NorthFace long line jackets/coats. But they have become so expensive.l As my last North Face coat was looking to be replaced I sought a less expensive alternative. I did a great amount of research and finally settled on this Marmot long line jacket. I am absolutely delighted. It is just as warm and cosy as the North Face jacket, vedry similar features.I am a true size 14 and the large size fits me perfectly. I like the fact that the fur trim is detatchable. I also like the warm fleece inner on the top half of the jacket. The jacket labels refer to a 'down filling' - I have no means of knowing if this is duck or goose. Either way, the jacket is very warm. All in all absolutely delighted with my purchase.

Warm Toasty and Good Value
Really impressed so far. I’m really short. 152cm/5ft and curvy. It was hard to find a coat that didn’t make me look really overweight and these styles of coats aren’t the most flattering but compared to a well known brand for winter wear with coats priced around £400 that made me feel fat and frumpy this is a winner!I’ve moved to a colder place to live so needed a warm outer layer. Although I’ve not experienced snow as yet I’m toasty & warm on the beach wearing this and it’s not too heavy or cumbersome. Will update once the snow hits my part of the world!I’d recommend!

Good purchase.
I am in love with this coat. I am continually amazed at how very well made and finished it is. Beautiful colour (Claret). 4 concealed pockets. I am a 14 and large is a perfect fit. I immediately removed the "fur" trim and now the hood. It is a mild winter so far so sometimes the coat is a little warm but on cold days I am very cozy. Not only is it down but has a fleece half lining. Anyone with short arms may find the sleeves long. I have long arms and I turn them up a little. I hesitated buying a coat on mail order but this has been a great buy and deliverd right on the day forecast.
