Marmot Halo 4 tent
My new Marmot Halo 4 tent just arrived. I was waiting for it, and hoping to have a bombproof tent how it was mentioned in others reviews. I can say for sure, that from bombproof tent category this product is removed, at least from my point of view. Why? Because when I just unpacked my lovely purchase, I discovered broken plastic clip, with what you attach tent to aluminum poles. It looks, that this is one of weak points for this tent. I wish ,that the tent would come with extra spare plastic clip. Not a big drama, I glued it with epoxy. I wish I had a better start. I am looking forward for my first outdoor trip, and then I share my experience, and give for others recommendations for this tent.

Loved the tent
Loved the tent. It handled a TR torrential rain storm in fine form. It did not leak, even sleeping on pools of water did not penetrate through which was pretty impressive. My only negative comment is the price for halo 6 halo 4 are all lower on other websites and is not reflect here. Bummer as I would be in the market for another one.

Awesome tent!
The Halo 4 is the roomiest 4 person design on the market due to the vertical side walls. For two people it is plenty huge even with cots and gear. Easy to pitch and stellar Marmot quality and is crazy sturdy when pitched and guyed-out for foul weather.

Awesome Tent
Purchased this as a replacement for our aging tent -- the view of the stars at night through the roof mesh is fantastic and no worrys about being bitten by the mosquitoes. Only complaint is it a large pack size when it is disassembled.

Good-looking tent, not without issues though
I have bought this tent (Halo4P) in July 2014, used it for two 3 nights camping trips. The first trip it kinda slowly rained the whole last day, while the last trip we had good weather and also very good wind cover. The good:- nice-looking tent, nice colors (I am pretty sure this was the main buying reason, I mean this and the good value that apparently Marmot provides, in seller's opinion)- light, very easy to install- comfortable interiorThe bad:- during the rainy day/night water accumulated inside. Found lots of water on the walls and the floor was partially flooded includingall the mats, clothes on the floor etc). Since then I had the item tested against leaks by Marmot it came back saying it was due to condensation (which is normal)- quite windy. the space between the rainfly and the base is maybe 3 inch wide. While it might sustain some winds, even the slightest draft will keep you refreshed through the night.- because of the same generous space lots of insects accumulate inside, it is not a nice picture to wakeup to in the morning.Other thoughts:Durability-wise, while the overall fabric seems to be good quality, as reported the poles do tend to bend easily; with good handling care they should last well though.I would have expected more from a 500$ tent. Two years ago I have installed a 15 yo 2 person tent in my backyard for my daughter to play. It stayed there for a month or more, rain never leaked inside or condensation formed, neither had insects accumulated under the rainfly.I am obviously disappointed and anxious as to in what sorts of camping environment I would want to use this tent again. I would definitely advise against this particular model. Myself I know it will take a while until I will even consider this brand again.

Great tent worth every penny.
I have used this tent to camp in upstate Vermont, Minnesota and in Glacier National Park for 3 years now. It has rained in torrents on this tent without it getting any water inside. It is pretty bomb proof, as Glacier can get pretty windy at times, and I have never had to tie it down, only anchor with tent pegs provided. The only downside to this tent is that it is difficult to close the outside fly doors all the way without getting out of the tent. Even so, it still did not leak with the fly door open 18 inches or more from the bottom. It is very cool to sleep in, of course it will get hot if you are in the sun, ALL things do. I would buy this tent all over again. It is very roomy inside, I have the Halo 4 and that is plenty big for 2 to 3 people with air mattresses. I have never had condensation inside the tent and I have slept in temperatures down to 30 degrees. It ventilates very well.

Fits 3 - 14 years old boys 6 ft tall just fine. There was some condensation inside on rooftop
This tent has lasted us 4 years now and used it in the snow at Ice House California El Dorado County. It kept my Boy Scouts dry and warm. Fits 3 - 14 years old boys 6 ft tall just fine. There was some condensation inside on rooftop, but I think it was due to not keeping some ventilation open.

Way too expensive...... Sorry.
This tent is kind of... OVERPRIZED! It's an excellent item, but I won't pay 4,000$ for this...
