My go-to finish for appearance and durability

I've tried many clear finishes over the years, water and oil based, and this is hands down the most durable I've ever tried. In Feb 2018 I refinished some bamboo tables being used outside at a restaurant and they've been holding up really well.At a restaurant, as you can imagine, they're under constant challenges: cups, saucers & plates sliding over them, wine & water spills, etc, etc. After a year I hardly notice any wear - definitely no wine or water marks and hardly any scuffing. And they've been outside in the sun and often get rained on in the winter months if not taken inside. So my experience is that it is totally waterproof. There is another review for the same product but with a different finish which claims otherwise, but my conclusion is there was some kind of mixing or application error. The instructions say 'spray only" but I was told by General Finishes that you could actually apply it with a pad. (I have no experience with it by brush, or application on a vertical surface.) I used a soft edger pad made by Sure-Line, and applied the finish to the tables as they lay flat. The finish flowed out very well - no application marks or streaks. The actual application was - and this is a process used on boats - three coats of West System's 105 Resin epoxy + 207 Special Clear Hardener for surface stabilization, then three coats of General Finishes Conversion Varnish, especially for UV protection (epoxies typically don't have that). You do need to follow the instructions carefully about mixing in the catalyst and so on. If you have any questions, call General Finishes and they're happy to help, in my experience.I've included some before & after photos. But it's really a dynamite finish. Anything important, especially subject to wear, I use this.Update :Jan 2019 :Finally it looks like the tables need a recoat. About ~95% of the finish looks great, if the occasional scratch and scuff. They do bring them in at night, but they get rained on during the day if they're already put out, and it rains. But there are a few wear-throughs on the edges. So that's two years out in the elements : direct sunlight, rain, everything.Update Feb 2021 :Haven't been able to get the restaurant to spring for a refurbish coat. But the tables are holding up really well and would for most part just need a refinish coat.In only one spot did the epoxy separate from the wood - probably due to the lack of maintenance recoating. It could be repaired w/o too much trouble though. Not too bad for 3 years outside in the sun & rain though.

Rock hard finish! Blows polyurethane away!

Simply the best and toughest product that you can put on your cabinets and table tops! I use an Earlex HVLP sprayer to apply and the results are amazing. A little spendy, but totally worth it. Mixing the catalyst is no big deal at all. 4 hr pot life on a hot day = everything will get a scratch coat and final coat with plenty of time to dry. This stuff is amazing, so give it a try. Pictured below are some kitchen cabinets I have made from black cherry, sanded to 220 then stained, then 2 coats of GF Enduro Conversion Varnish applied. I am NOT a professional, and the results are waaaay above my expectations. Wife and friends are blown away. Also, don't be afraid to apply the second coat heavy, but make sure your doors are laying flat to avoid runs.

Self-leveling joy!

I love this finish! It levels out very well, even when you overspray an area. Leaves a smooth and beautiful surface!

Excellent finish

Product is easy to use and gives you a great finish.Sprayed two coats on a test piece and left a frozen bottle of water on it all day. No rings, I was impressed
