Tamron Tap-in Console for Nikon Lenses - Black

Wanted to upgrade the firmware on my 18-200 f2.8 when upgrading bodies to make sure it was compatible. Software was pretty easy to use on my Win11 machine and was able to upgrade the firmware easily.

I bought the Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di-II VC HLD lens which was used i notice it was not sharp so after research i found out that these newer lens have firmware inside of them which needs to be updated.Plus you can adjust the focus and sharpness on the lens.. So after the firmware update left the lens like the factory had it and it was razor sharp so if you have any newer tamron lens then this item is a must have product .. i dont know why major camera companys like nikon and cannon does not have this item for there lens

Corrected an error pairing with a newer camera. Worth the money. Camera clubs should have one for members.

It took a little while to figure out the connection and downloading of the utility, but once done; it seemed to work alright. Their literature says it will work on Windows 11, but the download for my lens would error out at 30%. I hooked up to a gaming computer running on Windows 10 and it completed its task just fine.The number of Tamron lenses this can be used on is sowewhat limited (newer models). The Tap-On is nice to have, especially if you are looking to use your Tamron DSLR lenses on a mirrorless camera (with an adaptor).

I have a few Tamron lenses that needed firmware upgrades to work with the newest Nikon Z mount system so I bought this to help me do that. It was very simple to do and worked flawlessly.I didn't realize at the time, but this also allows me to make lens focus adjustments directly on the lens instead of having to make adjustments to each of my DSLR camera bodies. Took a little patience but it worked well and provided me with a better baseline of accuracy across all bodies. Very nice tool.

Buyer beware: Tamron evidently no longer supports this product. In the instruction manual it says to visit their site to download the software. On the site it says to download the software "from the link below"... except, there is no link. First bad sign. I found the download link via a google search and downloaded the software. Carefully following the instructions I installed the software, ran it, attached my lens. It took a while to see it, but finally a screen came up and said I needed to update firmware. Good! That's why I bought it! Sadly, the update failed 4 times. Error popup said that firmware data couldn't be retrieved. So I went to the help page, and guess what? It's totally blank. That told me what I needed to know. Returned it. Hoping this review will save someone the trouble I went through and pass on this obsolete dongle.

First time to ship item directly to Philippines and it is worth the wait. Item arrived in good condition. I immediately use it and it works perfectly for my Tamron 70-200 G2. Very easy to use and update the firmware in my lens. I can now use it in ftz adaptor mount.

This is a handy tool for your lenses. I liked the ability to fine tune them to my needs. Just be sure your lenses are compatible. I had one that was the last generation. The exact same 15-30mm lens in the newest generation is compatible but not mine. My mistake.
