Battery disconnect which is easy to install and to use.
I've been working on a 1959 Nash and wanted to install a disconnect which would work well, be electrically reliable, make a proper connection when 'on', and economical so that I could easily disconnect the battery when working on the car. I have always been skeptical of these disconnects built into the terminal clamp. Now that I know how these work and have tried this one I am pleased with it. When you turn the green knob the cable stay physically connected but electrically disconnected. The battery is completely isolated electrically but the cable is not loose. It is quick and easy to use. If you want a visual reminder it is 'off' or to prevent someone from reconnecting the battery you can completely unscrew the green knob and take it out of the cable clamp. I just turn the knob out a few turns and do not remove it from the clamp. I put a dab of DOW #4 on the contacts to prevent corrosion over time. It probably was not necessary as the contacts are plated and battery is protected in the car under the back seat.

Used this battery disconnect on a EZGO Express S4
Was having a problem with the battery draining over a period of a week due to non-use. Traced the problem down to a power using radio. Could have installed an On/Off switch for the radio but this solution cost less and I didn’t have to install a switch in the dash.Easy installation and has addressed the battery drain problem we encounter (normally during winter & spring seasons.

Hoping this will save my Optima Red battery while in storage
Perfect fit on my Optima Red side-post battery. I did use a washer on the side that screws in to the battery to get a tight fit because the brass bolt provided was just a tiny bit too long. Two turns disconnects/reconnects while brand new. Quick shipping, no surprises.

Neat looking, works ok.
Pretty good quality. It's a bit long for use in tight spots, but it worked on our miata battery that doesn't get a lot of use. It uses standard fasteners, so it's a bit of a bummer for metric consistency. It's possible to accidentally unscrew entirely, but not necessary to be effective.
