Wonderful scooters excellent for travel

My husband has owned and used these scooters for over 8 years. They are very compact and excepted readily by airlines. They allow my husband to ride it to the hold. One airline employee told me it was their favorite mobility scooter because it is so compact

Good so far.

Just got it and tried it. Will write again in a couple of uses.Cons first. All is good except the weight. It is not light weight. I saw the videos promoting it and saw these elders lifting it up...I said maybe not my mom but I can lift it.No way... just the fact that shipping box says 2 men lift heavy... I said oh no.... Indeed it's very heavy, don't know if it makes it a bit lighter by taking the battery out when lifting it and put back in when in use. But all together that scooter will give me a hernia. It's more than 50 something pounds. I got a bruise right away when lifting it up tried to hold and kind of push with my knee.. got bruised 😫. I'll will try to take the battery out. And this is with one battery...have space for 2.. I dont see myself putting 2 at once. I guess that's for when you will drive for long periods in case one die.Elders by their own won't be able to lift this, it's a back breaking.Pros. No assemble, easy unfolding and folding. Honk pretty good. Charge fast. Color nice blue. Very compact. When folded fits in any corner. I put in the hallway and have plenty space to walk next to it. It takes less than a 2'×2' space.

The ilivingi3 is almost 70lbs not 52 as stated.

Amazon has misrepresented this item by staying in their description on Amazon and their own website that the i living i3 it is a lightweight foldable mobility scooter.IT IS NOT.The item weighs about 70 lbs with the battery and other reviews of this item have said the same thing so I weighed it and their product is misrepresented. False advertising shakes my confidence in Amazon. After making Amazon very aware of the misleading statements about the I living scooter which they Sold and shipped to me. They wrote me and stated the scooter had been damaged in transit as the reason I called Amazon support. I find this even more disturbing. The supervisor was very helpful. They need to stop advertising this as a LIGHTWEIGHT scooterOne positive is the scooter is foldable and seems to work well so far this aking it out of the box.The one reason I bought this item was because I needed it to be LIGHTWEIGHT and compact. False advertising is a state and federal offense and there are fines for making claims that are not trueThis scooters one is definitely NOT a 53 lbs. but almost 70.Can you lift this item into your car? I can't!

ILiving I3 Scooter

I ordered this scooter for my husband. It came in a timely manner and was boxed appropriately. It is heavier that 55 lbs though. I will have to rethink loading and unloading in an automobile. It was easy to set up and charge. The turning radius is pretty impressive. Other than the weight I’m happy with the purchase.

More like a toy

Super flimsy, was afraid it would break, very small and not for anyone over 5'-6" as you will have to fold your legs to ride. Get something else

PORTABLE

This scooter is more portable than the past scooter I owned. But, A few issues are the Handle bar area does not stay locked in place. You cannot adjust it to go forward for a little more space. It rides a little harder than my other one. But all in all it works fine . I purchased this one so I have a little more portability. I do wish there was a way to charge the battery out of the unit.

Certainly less than I thought I was getting.

It fold up easily. When folded, it fits in lots of places. The battery is very light weight. It stops abruptly. That about covers the positive aspects of this mobility scooter. Now for the flip side of that coin. Though billed as a light weight scooter, it does not tell you that it lifts like a heavy weight. There is no place to conveniently grab ahold of this unit. One spot, on the top, says lift with both hands but in order to do that you need to raise it in the air about nearly 5 feet in order to get it into a trunk or the back of a truck. There just is no convenient lifting point on the front of the machine and the lock on the steering control is not sturdy enough to raise it without it coming unfolded while in your grasp which could be extremely dangerous. Possibly some sort of grab strap would help but I have yet to devise one. I haven’t had a chance to weigh this scooter yet but it certainly feels heavier than their claimed 52# or 57# depending on where you look. It claims to be made of "aircraft-grade aluminum" but most of its components are magnetic so they're certainly not aluminum. It claims over a 4” clearance (at least when I ordered it) but in reality it is only about 1.5” as the axle and transmission are very low to the ground. One inch of sand or small rock surface will bring this scooter to a halt. The electronics are completely exposed on the underside of this scooter. Running it on a grassy surface or any damp surface (even a smooth one) would be very risky. If you happen to get caught out in an unexpected rainfall, cover it immediately and don’t ride it until everything is completely dry. That could, of course, leave you stranded for hours. Another issue is the tiny motor. At only 150 watts, it is the smallest motor I have ever heard of on a mobility scooter. That is one of the reasons that it cannot be driven in even light sand or dirt. The motor simply isn’t powerful enough to pull it. That is also apparent when “stepping on the gas.” It takes several seconds for any movement and about 15 seconds to get up to speed when on level, smooth surfaces. The tires are hard. There is no suspension. You have only about an inch of cushion in the seat so the ride is predictable bumpy. The steering is rather quirky. Though it steers easily and the turning radius is OK for a 4 wheel scooter, hitting a small rock while driving with one hand can literally jerk the handlebar out of your control. It is absolutely a two handed job so don’t plan on carrying anything with you. Outside of holding something in your lap, there is no space for anything (like a small oxygen bottle) to sit.Another strange part of the design is that, when folded, it has to be moved by carrying it as the larger wheels collide together and prevent their movement. It can be towed using the tiny anti-tip wheels but the grab point is only about 18” off the ground so a stooped posture is required. It cannot be towed by the steering handle because that handle is not sturdy and using it will also cause the scooter to unfold. In their Amazon ad, it states “Safe for airline travel” yet the shipping box expressly forbids travel by air because of the Lithium Ion battery. The horn is absolutely silly. We thought it didn’t work until three people got down on their knees right in front of the scooter in order to hear the tiny, shrill beep. It is totally useless. And last but not least, check iLiving’s website for the cost of the accessories such as a second battery. Their prices are truly over the top… a second battery is $550.00 on sale. A basket is $79.95 and a tiny adapter to allow charging the battery without the scooter is $89.95… all plus shipping and handling. Their website also boldly states, “All sales are final on the iLiving i-3 scooter. No returns, refunds, exchanges or cancellations.” In other words, you’re stuck with it.
