Great for complex music projects
I have used this unit for both a programmable percussion sequencer (rhythm unit) and a MIDI key scanner for a pipe organ console rebuild. Works as well as the original Arduino and programs with the Arduino IDE perfectly. I push the processor to the limits in data retrieval in the rhythm unit but it works fine. This is is over a 2000 line program! With the key scanner, response is lightning fast and there has never been a musical glitch in either of the units.

Project ready
Easy to work with, worked perfect for a small school project, great price

Love the pin labeling!
Well made and I REALLY like the pin labeling on the sides.... easy to see. Works great too! This is my 5th one and they have all performed flawlessly

Not A Clone!
A real Arduino Mega 2650, not a clone. It comes with the appropriate USB cable. Note that this is a 5V peripheral device, so your 3.3V sensors won't work without external level converters. This, of course, works perfectly with the Arduino IDE.

Awesome board, just one setback
I like Elegoo clones, but I'm only giving this one 4 out of 5 stars because the sockets for pins 8-SCL are not alligned with all of the other sockets, making it difficult for making shields with generic protoboards. I don't know if this is true of the Arduino mega, but if it is, that's a bad design idea. In my picture you can see that a single standard header strip can connect the digital DIP sockets with the communication socket and the pins 0-7 socket, but won't fit pins 8-SCL. Now this may not be a problem for everyone, but if you wanna make a generic shield that utilizes all of the PWM pins, it's going to be a total hassle.Aside from that, it's a good board, does what it's supposed to do and is affordable, well packaged, and arrives on time. Elegoo's other products have been awesome to me, especially the nano clones and the double sided pcb kits. If the mega board didn't have this one hiccup, I'd give it five stars.I also like how the pins are labeled on the sockets as well as the board. It's a nice touch.

Works Well
Good product. This is the second one I've ordered. Works the way it's supposed to.

Well, It's Not A PIC - But I Learned Enough To Make My PIC Project Work!
I am a retired EE. I spend a lot of time keeping my brain working by doing little electronic projects. I had spent several dozen hours trying to get a PIC project working - all to no avail. The examples I was using were all Arduino based; and I simply couldn't untangle the Arduino code enough to understand the details. So I broke down and bought this in the hopes that if I got it to work I had enough electronic equipment to reverse engineer the signals if not the code. It Worked. But this review is about the Elegoo Mega.I have only done two things with the platform. But I can tell you that both projects worked fine as though I had a "real" Arduino... of course the Arduino stuff is all open source, so maybe I should not be surprised - but it was nice to not have to worry about any compatibility issues as I was learning.I will continue building projects in the PIC Ecosystem... I get to fully understand the inner workings of the code - all of the code. But since the Arduino Ecosystem is so much more vast than any other platform, I am sure that I will continue to use this little board to get a handle on how to jump to another platform...and I don't feel like a traitor to Mcirochip since the AVR products are part of the same company now.If you are worried about build quality or compatibility, based on my very limited experience (the project I was working on touched a lot of the Arduino Ecosystem - so I might not have a "lot" of project experience I number of projects - but I have quite a lot of experience with the Arduino Ecosystem anyway) worry not. This product is very nice indeed...

Yet another common Elegoo W
I got my 3D printer from Elegoo a while back. They had barely released it, coincidentally about the same time I entered the market for one. It was so easy to use and setup! My experience with this product changed my opinion of Elegoo from a neutral "ok, it's just another company" to "this place makes some really good stuff."Fast forward to now: I purchase this board, assuming that it was good because it was Elegoo. It arrived quickly, but I didn't use it until a while later. When I did try to use it, it wasn't working! Very disappointing, but also very unusual for Elegoo. I then go to contact Elegoo support for help and they sent me a replacement with next-day shipping! Although the shipping speed might be on Amazon's part, Elegoo still had amazing customer service! If you're looking for a board for any project, Elegoo is the way to go! This board provides amazing value for its cost; I can say with confidence that I will be purchasing a lot of these in the future!
