At this price, it does everything that I need. Nice sturdy design that looks like it will last a long time. My previous one was a Fluke brand. Superior in many ways, but it was far more than this, 35 years ago!

For years I have been using a very high quality Fluke multimeter but it recently failed/needs to be recalibrated. Having an urgent job to do I decided to purchase the number 1 rated multimeter on Amazon. However, I was concerned that the item listed only cost £10.49. Despite being suspicious that the highest rated product cost so little, I decided to trust the market reviews and bought one.It arrived the next day and I was very impressed. The black plastic case with integral stand was robust and was housed in a bright yellow rubberised protective case. The leads were of good quality not the usual plastic rubbish that one associates with low priced products and they were supplied with protective caps at each end. The device is well designed and comes with 9v battery fitted and a low battery warning symbol on the display. It has two buttons one for backlight on the LCD display and the other a data 'hold' button to freeze the display. It has three jack sockets one for Volts, ohms and mAmp, one common and one 10 Amp inputs. The rotary dial has 20 settings which include DC voltage at 200mV, 2V, 20V, 200v and 600V; DC Current at mA for 1.5V battery tester, 2mA, 20mA, 10A, AC voltage at 200V and 600V; Resistance at 200 ohm, 2K ohm 20K ohm, 200K ohm and 2M ohms; a Diode test and a Transistor hFE test setting.I have not tested the accuracy but the stated values are quite acceptable.Don't be put off by the low price. In this case low prices does not mean low quality. The Ultrics UT0021YB is a very good quality, compact and functional unit.

I purchased it as gift for a child with electronics interests .. its well priced and a very good Meyer for a young learner ..a handy tool

I’m quite new to the world of electronics and needed a multimeter to complete guitar projects. I was looking for a multimeter that wasn’t too expensive and wasn’t going to bamboozle me when it came to trying to use it! I picked this one because the price was right, it already had some very good reviews and it looked pretty simple to use. Ready to use from opening the box, battery fitted already. I’ve had it for about 6 months now, still as good now as the day I unboxed it. Build quality: Seems tough enough, got a bit weight to it, nice big display with a blue backlight (separate button for this). The dial turns nicely, clicks effortlessly through each setting. Definitely doesn’t feel like a budget item. 12 o’clock is off position, no auto off function. It’s a nice size, not too obtrusive on my work bench. It has a handy stand which tucks away flush at the back. I have found this to work well, other reviews mention it being flimsy. It depends on how rough you are I suppose, no problems personally. Performance: Appears to be accurate. Used mainly for resistance and continuity. Would’ve been nice to have crocodile attachments for the probes but this is a budget multimeter. All in all, a good piece of kit for the money, seems to be accurate, does everything that I need it to do and looks good doing it- everything you need for hobbyist electronics. I would certainly recommend this product.

First of all, I decided that I wanted an auto-ranging multimeter as long as it wasn't too much more expensive than a basic one. This model was a good price and seemed to do all that I want. It will measure capacitance as well as volts, amps and resistance. You can also select continuity, diode testing or frequency. First you set the dial to the type of measurement you want - say, voltage - then the function button will switch between dc and ac voltage. It's pretty easy.There is also a temperature probe but I'm not sure why I would ever want to use that. I will probably lose the probe anyway - it's a pity there is no little bag to put the meter and the various probes in to keep them all safely together.The display is very clear and easy to read and a backlight can be switched on if necessary. There is also an led torch that might be useful on occasions.The case seems quite rugged and the battery compartment and cover are made of quite thick plastic. The stand is also quite solid. It takes 2 x AAA batteries which is better than a PP9.I have only tried it out briefly so far so I may update this review after a while but so far I'm very happy with it. The only complaint I have is with the shipping from Amazon. The box just had an address label stuck on it but otherwise was totally unsealed, so anyone could have opened it and taken things out.After using this meter for a few weeks I'm adding a bit more information. I'm still very happy with this multimeter. It is robust and the display quickly shows the value of voltage, resistance or capacitance. Some auto-ranging meters take longer to display the value so this one is pretty good. I'm very happy with this buy and I give 4 stars - I rarely give 5 stars to anything as that implies perfection. For the price it is excellent value.
