Is the receptacle identified as nema 14-50r rated for 50 amps? It says 120/240 v AC 30.2 A, does that mean it's 30 amps?

Runs as well as I was hoping

1 year later , 1 power outage later, 10 hours on the Hobbs meter... it works as well as I was hoping for. Nice clean power ran straight off my gas meter.

Envy of the Neighborhood After Hurricane Milton!!!

Purchased this in July 2024 in preparation for Florida's hurricane season, and had to put it into action in October after Hurricane Milton tore through the state. I connected this generator to my breaker panel through a generator interlock connection, and connected it to my home's natural gas lines. We just had power restored this morning after 110 straight hours without, and this with this Champion generator connected to my house we almost couldn't tell that the power was out.We ran our central A/C, kitchen refrigerator, garage refrigerator, an under-counter beverage fridge, plus all of our lights, outlets, tv's, ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fans, etc... We were careful to wait until the A/C had cycled off before also running the microwave, and we didn't use the oven at all, though I think we could have if we'd turned the A/C off first. We were able to run the clothes washer and gas dryer, as well as the dishwasher, though we did turn off the heated dry function.I didn't think it would, but it actually ran my 5-ton central A/C unit without trouble. It is a variable-speed A/C system, which I think is the only reason it ran. With the A/C on stage 5 (as high as it goes) the generator display showed that it was at 80% capacity. Fortunately, the a/c didn't stay there much, and mostly bounced between stage 1-3 to maintain the house at a pleasant 75 degrees. On stage 3, the generator was at 60% capacity. Again, that was while also running 3 refrigerators, random lights, televisions, modem, routers, phone chargers, etc... Most A/C systems would probably require a soft start installed first.I did follow the break-in instructions and ran it below 50% load for the first 5 hours and then changed the oil. I changed the oil again at around the 80 hour mark.All-in-all, this thing was fantastic for the 110 hours we went without power. The ability to run on Natural Gas was really a game changer. Gasoline was nearly impossible to obtain in our area during the power outage, with HUGE lines at gas stations and fights breaking out between frustrated and stressed people trying to get gas. I was quite happy to sit at home not needing to journey out every day in search of fuel like everyone else around town. I am truly happy with my purchase and was very grateful to have it these past few days.

Powers my whole house and garage

I have barely used this enough to break it in since purchase, but in the break in runs we had the entire house and garage running off this thing using propane for fuel. 1 12kBTU window unit and 2 10K BTU window units on max, two refridgerators, TVs, UPS system for the computers, a water distiller barely bring this to about 1/3 load. Adding a coffee maker or a tea kettle will kick it up another notch or two, but it handled it well.I have a 240 heater in the garage that will run it up to max but we rarely use that, so ...It does what it's supposed to do. We have a manual transfer switch we use for a semi-permanent installation.Which brings me to why I dropped a star. The oil dipstick/filler. The dipstick is practically horizontal and positioned behind a panel in such a way as to make access _extremely_ annoying. The oil drain on the other hand has a flexible hose attached and makes draining the oil a breeze.Just add a longer filler tube and a dip stick so the fill point is easily accessible!I think the engineers who design this stuff just enjoy the idea of the customer frustration. So far, I'm very impressed with the load capacity with only about 5 hours of use the fuel gauge on the propane tank hasn't even moved.I'm only writing this because I know I can't be the only person that finds this frustrating.

Electric starter is great.

Couldn't be happier. This unit is big enough to run my 2200 sq ft house ON NATURAL GAS without a problem as long as I limit myself to one A/C in the summer. Winter time both heaters run without a problem. Started right up following all instructions. Initiated with Propane then after getting my natural gas line quick connects installed tried out the natural gas and think it will be my first to go to fuel. Probably will not ever use gasoline as the possibility of carburetor problems.

Very Pleased!

I resisted getting a generator for 25 years but after a recent 6 day outage I decided to take the plunge. I wanted an Inverter since it runs cleaner than Generators with TDC of<3%. Additionally I wanted a tri-fuel unit since I plan to run exclusively on natural gas. This unit was the best choice and I’m very pleased so far. Wheel and handle assembly is easy. Owners manual is good but illustrations could be better. I had a connection added to my gas, a 50 AMP inlet outside my garage and an interlock switch added to my breaker box. I should be able to run everything essential in the house except for my 5-ton Central Air.Running on natural gas this unit produces about 5850 Watts of electricity. With this unit and a portable A/C unit I should be well positioned the next time we have an extended outage here in the greater Houston area. One update. The battery is not easy to access. If you purchase a SAE polarity reverse connector from Amazon and plug it into the SAE connector on a trickle charger you can plug it into the right hand side battery connector cable on the generator battery to keep the battery charged without having to remove it. The polarity of the generator battery cable is reversed so you need the adapter to make this solution work.
