I got this doctor kit as a birthday gift for my friend’s four-year-old and it was an instant hit. The second she opened it, she put on the little glasses, grabbed the toy thermometer, and told us all we were “very sick” and needed shots immediately. It kept her busy for the rest of the afternoon and her poor stuffed animals have been in and out of surgery ever since.The set comes with a bunch of fun pieces—stethoscope, syringe, dentist tools, even a little mouth with teeth. She especially loved pretending to brush the teeth and pull them out, which was both hilarious and mildly terrifying. Everything is colorful, kid-sized, and surprisingly sturdy for being used non-stop by tiny hands. The carrying case makes it easy to pack everything up when playtime’s over, though she rarely lets it stay closed for long.A couple of small things to keep in mind. The stethoscope doesn’t make real sounds or light up, but honestly, that didn’t seem to matter one bit. Also, there are a lot of small pieces, so it’s probably best for kids who are past the putting-everything-in-their-mouth stage. Still, nothing too tiny or unsafe—it all feels made with young kids in mind.All in all, this turned out to be a great gift that encourages imagination and role play. It’s one of those toys that kids can play with alone or with siblings and grown-ups, and somehow it makes checkups and shots way less scary. If you’re looking for something fun, educational, and not screen-based, this doctor kit definitely delivers.
