This looked like an ideal solution for placing a camera in a location where power is difficult to supply, as long as that location has a good view of the open sky.We have several cameras from the Wansview/Galayou/Cinnado/AOQEE family, and all are accessible via the Wansview Cloud app. We already have a couple of the R2 battery cameras at our holiday flat overseas, and they are powered by separate solar panels, and work flawlessly with quick and easy remote access from the UK via the app. This new S1 camera has the benefit of the solar panel being built in, at the expense of being a bit larger.Setup was very easy as we already use the app, and the camera worked fine. One thing, there is a small piece of tape on the front that you’d expect would pull off a protective film. Unfortunately the tape comes off easily and at first I thought the protective film was missing. Several days later I found that the film was still in place but virtually invisible. Now it’s off, the image is slightly better!In the UK this camera will need to be sited carefully to maximise solar charging. We initially installed ours on the garden fence close to some very tall trees and the battery gradually discharged as it was using more power than it was generating. On the open patio however, it charged and remained at or near 100% the whole time, at least in these summer months. Only time will tell if this camera will remain charged during a British winter.Build quality seems good, the charging and SD card slots are covered by a rubber bung and the rest of the camera seems well sealed. Again, only time will tell, but our Galayou (Wansview) R2 battery cameras, with separate solar panels, have been in operation for about a year out in the open on the roof terrace of our holiday home.In summary, a nice design, well built, decent quality and easy to use.Edit - condensation has formed on the inside of the lens, see photo.

Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with this solar-powered security camera. From the moment it arrived, everything about it just worked. The setup was incredibly straightforward – I had it connected and running in less than 10 minutes. The instructions were clear, and the app guided me through everything step by step.Speaking of the app, it’s genuinely one of the best I’ve used for smart tech. It’s smooth, intuitive, and lets you customise alerts, view live footage, and scroll back through events without any hassle. The notifications come through quickly and I love being able to check in from anywhere.The image quality is excellent too – both day and night. The HD clarity is way better than I expected for the price. Even in lower light, the night vision picks up a lot of detail.What really sold me though is the solar power. It means I could install it exactly where I wanted for the best view, without worrying about running power cables or being near a socket. It charges well even in typical UK weather, and I haven’t had to think about the battery once since putting it up.If you’re looking for a reliable, wire-free, solar security camera with a brilliant app and crystal-clear video, I’d definitely recommend this one

I’ve been using this outdoor camera for a few weeks now and overall, I’m quite satisfied. The video quality is decent for the price — clear enough to capture important details during the day and at night. Setup was straightforward and hassle-free, which was a big plus. The app is intuitive and functions smoothly, making it easy to access live footage and review recordings.I chose to use a microSD card instead of subscribing to the cloud storage option, and it's worked well so far. It offers a convenient and cost-effective way to store footage locally. If you’re looking for an affordable and user-friendly security camera, this is a solid option.

Great camera and great price. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is colour. I really wanted a black camera. Reason I bought this was I had no power or ethernet in the area I wanted to install it.We this was so easy to mount and set up on Wansview app.I have had it up and running now for 4 weeks and the battery life is great plus even on cloudy days it gets a charged.It is a good looking camera and the image quality is fantastic. you can make out very good detail in day light and in the dark. The image in the dark is very clear, without the need for any external lighting to help.I plan on getting another 1 of these in the near future for my back garden. The wifi stregnth on the camera is easily one of the best I have had as a wifi camera. The audio is really good as it can hear the traffic from a far distance to where it is mounted!Playback from the onbaord sd card (purchase seperately) is good, does not take long to load and quick to start.I think the main 2 things I like best is the battery life (even in UK cloudy weather) and the image clarity.Great job AOQEE, keep up the good work.

This is a quality product for a very reasonable price. It took a bit of persuasion (several attempts at the 'present QR code to camera lens' stage) to get the camera to connect to my home wifi (not sure why), but the connection was solid once made. The camera is now mounted on an outside wall about 20m from the router but works absolutely fine.Just check that the camera works Ok in the intended location before you go to the trouble of fixing it permanently. I made a wooden "plinth" that I fixed to the wall with two screws, then fixed the camera to the plinth. Much easier than trying to drill four holes accurately into brick/mortar.The app has lots of options so it took a bit of time to set up the alerts how I wanted them. You can view the state of charge of the battery via the app. It comes with a USB charging cable but you will probably never need it once the camera is installed. Image quality is impressive. We'll just have to see how well the camera stands up to the weather! Based on initial experience, highly recommended.
