Q: can you describe the taste of these fresh dates?

These have no relation to what we normally think of as a date. The taste is sweet and fruity with a chewy almost spongy texture. Whereas a date is much sweeter with a carmel like flavor and a pasty texture.

Q: So this is packed inn usa but made in china? this is shady.

They are JuJubes....nothing else to say. They were as advertised. There are a lot of product raised in China and then repackaged in USA.
